@alfonsedode and AW_FC, I see your points, here's how I see the pros and cons to having a solo leaderboard as well as a trio...

 

Pros:

-Quicker to get through the challenges

-Can do challenges with different people without having to do all 42 challenges with same team

- People are more likely to stick to the challenges.

 

Cons

-Steps on the toes of the Original N7 series and Weekly challenge Solo series Leaderboards

-As only 42 team games, You'll be able to reach Spec Ops N7 too quickly (a lot easier than the solo N7 series), having team leaderboards extends the longevity of the series

-A ****ton more work with splitting up times for three people over 42 challenges 

 

 

I see your point with it being difficult to coordinate and easier to reach Spec Ops N7, however, this way it offers a more long term challenge for trio teams. I too was thinking about how I would do it.. and will probably have to create multiple teams to not exclude people I play with regularly.. but if anything, it will give me an opportunity to play with them more!

 

Any other opinions on the matter of team only leaderboards vs team and individual ones?

^I don´t think you would reach N7 too quickly, because 42 challenges are a lot of games to play, IMO. Especially N6 and N7 should take some time on Gold due to WS reqs. I see there are also 6 bonus challenges, which makes it to 48 challenges.

 

I do see your point of the issue of splitting times. This would cause a lot of work for you.

 

How do you all like the idea of cancelling Gold and run only Plat, with Solo and Team Leaderboard? This solution was used in the Compact trios. For the lolz, the special challenge reqs could be transfered to Platinum. The first two challenges were easy on Platinum, so Gold would not be that attractive to play and neither be challenging. I think, that should be a nice compromise.

I think it's a good idea. I don't think the reqs will be too hard to do on platinum.. other than the 10 WS ones lol. But I guess they need to be challenging in the higher N-ranks. All in favor?

Well, I was about to say the 10 WS at N7 should be reduced to 5 WS or use it as a bonus challenge, too. Otherwise

 

What about the bonus 1-5? Does this mean we have to do two runs on particular the challenge?

It's fine, I've been doing it for the past year, it's not a problem (but thank you) There will be an individual and team leaderboards, and it's now plat only. It's tougher overall, but you can now make your way through them with different trios (easier to coordinate).

I was looking forward to doing these trios with my friends one day, when we were all ready.

But platinum with suboptimal kit/weapon combos, and challenge requirements?

 

I can't ask them to carry me through that, I'd just be dragging them down.

 

Good luck to anyone attempting this, it looks like it would have been fun.

@Evil Mastered: Have you watched the vid of ex-Clusum? It may look difficult at first, but really, if you all work together, even Plat with suboptmal kit/weapon combos and challenge reqs won´t deny any progress.

Don´t forget, this is based on fun, so who cares if you must be carried. 

Reqs could always be reduced, if they prove too difficult.

@evil Well, it was gold solos ... So plat trios should nt be more challenging, should they ?

Anyway, doing a gold version is still possible for fun, just wont be HoFed

I agree with them being Platinum trios, but the 5 waves survived isn't a great requirement though. It removes the "fun" aspect because you will have to quit the game and do it over if you fail in the first few waves. Some of us just don't have that kind of time.

How about making the 5 WS requirement a personal gold medal or reducing it to 3? 3 WS is okay with me.

I actually do want there to be some 5 waves survived requirements. I dialed down the medal reqs significantly from the solos, so in fact most of the time it's 2 or 3 each which is pretty easy.. the only challenge in the later ones really is having 3 or 5 waves survived. I may drop the N6 ones to 3 waves, but I want to leave the N7 challenges as is. They need to be tough, otherwise where's the reward for reaching N7 Spec OPs.

Take into account that this game is broken and that the other two teammates have off host issues to deal with, I'd say that playing Platinum and not dying for 3 waves in a row is challenge enough. There's no point in increasing a requirement to artificially increase the difficulty.

The 5 WS medal is equivalent to Geth Stunlock, sometimes dying just can't be helped
So why should that dictate the outcome of a challenge?

It's also why we changed the full extraction requirement into a mission successful.

Then I may as well just make them Mission successful with no reqs or waves survived, or kits or enemies. Just choose whatever you like and get mission successful. I agree, there are times we get trolled, but that goes for all aspects of this game. Sometimes incendiary steals your headshot. Yes, the N7 challenges will be tough and will likely take many attempts. There are times when there is nothing we can do about a death in this game, but it's part of the game and we still play it.

 

I understand it may deter many from doing them. But I've stuck by my guns with many of my challenges. I also made a ridiculously difficult category of Legendary Solos that has very few successful runs, but TechnoTurian just did a 10 waves survived solo of one of the hardest challenges in this thread. I think that's the best solo done in this game. When a trio team completes a 5WS match, It will be a great accomplishment. Yes maybe they had a lag-free game, but I think more often than not, it's because they played like a team and stuck together.

Also, I changed Bonus 6: Heart of Hydra to 10WS "only" and not Flawless lol The only 10WS trios are bonus rounds.

I´ve got the feeling, that Origin is really broken lately.

 

To topic: We can still change the requirements later, if it proves too difficult. A little rage quit was always part of the challenge group and part of ME 3

Alright ladies and gentleman. I'm opening up the Gold trios again and I'll do a solo and team leaderboard for both gold and platinum. The rules and reqs still apply for both Gold and Platinum. This is so that we can attract a larger group of players to do these challenges, cause frankly they're a ton of fun!
