I wondered about that too and thought I'd rather go for the naive BE approach with a 45566 build. Tried it out, and it just doesn't work with the claymore. If you make compromises with shotgun mods and passives for faster recharge, you fall just a bit short of OSKing centurions and dragoons*. And at the same time, only atlases last long enough to be viable BE targets. So I changed to 66066 too. But now that you mention melee... hmmm.

I take my cue from the lot of you since most of you have more solo experience under your belt. I guessed the BE approach would work coupled with melee because Rage, DR, shockwave for emergency stagger, and a lot of humanoid characters that are dead after one heavy melee, and some dead after a light one. Or, if you could use the Atlas as a lightning rod and set off multiple BEs on it with all the other enemies around it in a tight space....

 

I imagine this will take several attempts so I'll get to see which approach works. Reset cards withstanding, that is.

For N3 III, i also wanted to keep my multitask melee power builded shaman, but ... i did'nt work it out, same as a BE focused build, claymore is too heavy.

So i settled for a claymore build with warp debuf and maybe Adrenaline module III to escape goon/phantom rush.

Inspired by 31:02 - Haxn14 (248 266 pts) [v] video . I thought he was aiming poorly in the vid, then i discoverd i was far worst .

IMO BE doesn´t work, due to the weight of the Claymore. Quick shot is the alternativ . I´ve learned to use the quick reload button. Melee won´t help against Phantoms, while their barrier is still active. At least with my build. I got mostly synced.

I play with the arrow keys. Enter is usually my power 1 (Barrier). Detonating the barrier to prevent Phantoms syncs might be quite useful and your last rescue.

I use the mousewheel button for power 2 (Warp). I´ve set ctrl right for power 7 (medigel) to quick reload.

 

I killed some Phantoms in 1vs1 by two quick shots, using warp to weaken her and then heavy melee, when the barrier is down. A light melee should finish the job. Keeping some distance is still to consider.

You know, if you said something like "my rig can't handle it" or "my game crashes when I record" or even "I can't play without my music on" - I'd have nothing to say in reply. "I don't want to post my videos" would work just as well. But "I don't have a YoutTube account"? How's that a problem? Just go and make one, it takes the whole of 30 seconds.

I'd say the scorpion makes a world of difference. On gold, dealing with phantoms is like 90% of the challenge. And switching weapons every minute breaks the rhythm something awful.

Yeah, he goes for the head each time, but it feels slow in a vid and particularly in this one. Maybe cause i m used to "pro" aimer vid but mostly cause everything feels faster in live game than in vid. I realised that truly cause of this vid

I gave this a run last night with my melee-BE strategy. I got away from the melee a bit in the later waves around 6-7, then got synched on wave 8 by a phantom. It's totally doable if you keep your rage going and play smart around phantoms, which I did not on that wave. But the BEs came in handy in crowds, and Shockwave helped with those pesky Dragoons as well as on turrets, which were plentiful as we all know. I certainly won't say it's better than any other method; my time was at 28 min when I got killed, and I imagine it could've been faster had I spec'd for more weapon damage. However, it's viable IMO and kinda fun to melee all the things true Krogan style.
