I can't say that I really favor gaming on consoles, it's more something which comes from habits. My first gaming experience a long time ago was when I received the NES for Christmas. Then I got the Super Nintendo, and the Playstations after that. Back in the 90's, computers were more expensive and I didn't have one at home. I got my first PC when I became a student and, at this time, I had already a long gaming experience with consoles behind me and playing on PC never really crossed my mind.
Now I could buy a good PC for gaming but so far I never found the motivation to learn how to play with a mouse and a keyboard. I also spend most of my days in front of a computer for my job so I'm not sure I want to do the same during my leisure time. But I'm aware that playing on PC would make my soloer-life easier, and could probably improve my performances.
OK, now you know everything about my gaming life. In the next episode, I will tell everything about my sexual life !
PC Gaming and console gaming are different, with a certain amount of overlap.
Console has the whole social aspect, you can have friends over and play 4-player split screen Black Ops 2 or Halo or Mario Kart, or you can play 5-player asymmetric games like Metroid Blast or Luigi's Mansion.
PC can have much higher frame rate and graphic quality, with better sound, but console gaming has a far lower price barrier. You cannot buy an adequate gaming PC for the price of a console, and you probably already have a TV, right?
Playing sitting cross legged on the sofa feels more relaxing than sitting at your desk over keyboard and mouse as well.
They're mostly different.
