FINALLY! I completed this stupid, banshee raping, crusader missing, crap challenge!!! I think I've died 3 times in total of attempts. They all ended in hand jobs.
*I'm also REALLY looking forward to the N3 challenges- I'm finding this Rio/Reapers/Revenant BF3Sol one to be sort of brutal (just had a 45 min wave 9 fail- picked up by the last banshee on the focking map.. cool) and not especially excited about the Goddess/Collectors/ps3 combo.

This was the build that ended up working for me. I needed the tankiness and so went AR/Carnage build. It is definitely not the fastest way to do this challenge though.. that would be nade spam. I just wanted to get er done after a bunch of wipes trying to go really quickly.

I used the Revenant for this challenge. The strategy was to kill most mooks with the weapon to get the AR and the HS medals. Against Brutes and Ravagers, the combo Carnage + Frag grenades with a power amp 4 hurted them very hard.

I skipped carnage, used the katana plus incendiary rounds, and spammed a lot of frag grenades, basically running around the grenade boxes. 3 medals were 75 weapon kills, 75 kills and 20 hs, I mostly relied on AR and the Katana but cleared out clusters of enemies with the Frags.

I'm pretty sure for the run I made it on, this is the build I used. I did a lot of hitting and running near the back of the map, using Tech Bursts & Carnage-primed Fire Explosions to deal damage to groups. Banshees were the worst but Brutes and Ravagers don't last long against Carnage & Frags.
Don't get discouraged man, the medals in this one will come through normal play, and some of the later solos in the series are a bit easier IMO.
Yeah I may have to skip ahead a little bit just because I can't stand doing that one multiple times in a row. Think I'm going to stick with the build I've got, I guess I may need to dink around a bit on objective waves to make sure I get the weapon/HS medals. I'm not having alot of luck getting killstreaks because the enemies tend to spread out too much by the time I get to the spawn (stupid huge map) and there aren't that many ideal places to farm grabs on Rio so I think the AR kills and 20 HS are my best bet- I've gotten 75 AR kills and 20 HS, and I've gotten full extraction, I just need to manage to do both of them in the same go.

After taking 137 tries to complete, I honestly couldn't care less about the time on the Rio one- definitely could have done it a little faster but I was playing on the cautious side because I did NOT want to have to do it again. Ended up respeccing and going with the Bonus Power AR/Carnage (66644) build, was sort of a nice happy medium. Am now going to say a prayer over my ps3 and attempt this Goddess/Collector one.
