I'd say it is for the solo; for the duo & trio it's an afterthought imo. Not being able to gel is gonna be crazy!

It may not make or break the challenge attempt, but depending on where you die, having your team attempt to revive you could cause more problems. 

 

The missile restrictions don't bother me, nor the equipment restrictions since I'll have teammates. Now I'm curious; what we're you referring to?

Just tried the new duo with Kaxas on Gold with the new rules. I´m expecting problems for casual gamers with the no medigel rule. We died at wave 8 on Ghost vs. Cerberus. Wave 6 center escort is a real nightmare without using medigel. Kaxas got sync on wave 7, where I had to solo over 50 % of the wave. At the beginning of wave 8, Kaxas destroyed two Atlases with one rocket and ended synced by the first appeared Phantom after that. I died at the middle of the wave by a sneaky Phantom from behind. The no medigel rule is quite challenging, even for expert players. I suggest, that it should be worked on again. It might be okay for trios though.

 

I also vote for mission successful on duos and trios, too. Gold solos should have full extraction again.

 

I hope, I could  improve this new series.

I was talking about solos, and how GS restriction isn't as big a deal (especially this week) as the consumable level 3 limit rule.  Vanilla humans get hardly any benefit from anything that is at level 3.

Well, you're only excluding Cyclonic IV and IV ammo really. However I couldn't say definitively how having 412.5 less shields would play out; is it noticeable? I'd guess the difference in ammo damage would add up over time and make for noticeably slower killing. Not to mention I solo gold where you're probably looking at the effects it'll take on a platinum solo.

I'll defer to X3lander for these changes. I think making Mission successful for all challenges could be a good idea. Also, I'm still a fan of the no medigel. It really promotes team work and strategy and is actually quite a challenge. It's also different from what we're used to in here. Perhaps if it continues to be truly too difficult, maybe permitting medi-gel in objective waves?

It is waived for platinum apparently.

 

Specifically wrt the challenge this week, AM3 probably isn't enough speed to actually move you as far as you need to with ~825 shields on Hydra.  Also against this faction on this map, I don't think it is particularly good when you draw devices.

 

CM3 is a puny 500 shields, as you say, and is also pretty mediocre with the possible exception of on the HSe and HV since both had DR.  Specifically for this week's challenge, you are just short of preventing shieldgate in a single Ravager shot (1325 vs 1400).

 

AP3 is pretty far behind AP4 because the extra .5m penetration is quite helpful.

 

I keep getting trolled by objectives on this one.  Last was targets, devices, devices.  Ran out of time on devices.  Issue is Ravager with magic spawns and magic LOS on all device BS.  I was running Assault Loadout since this week's setup for more damage, but I might just say screw it and go Survivor.

A friend of mine ninja joined on one of the later waves but left immediately without killing anything. It didn't make any difference to the game whatsoever except for the 5-10 secs when there was some aggro towards them. Hope that's alright.

And the guns on this map are no longer in need of calibration Escort and second pizza were of the dreaded across-the-length-of-the-map kind; judicious use of rockets and op packs saw us through. Held the boxes and sniped incoming forces until about to be overrun; we then drew them among the containers, only to sprint on the gangways and snipe from there. A fun challenge, and the Widow fits both kits better than I'd imagined.

I wanted the challenges to be more difficult than usual and to promote teamwork. Just not so difficult that we don't have any fun anymore.

 

The Full extraction is there for a reason, otherwise w11 becomes just mindless running around the map where only one player has to survive. If it proves too difficult, we might relax it to Mission Successful for Insanity, or for duos.

 

As for the medi-gel, I definitely think it's doable on trios and a good challenge for Hardcore. It might be too much for Insanity duos, but I'd like to keep it as it is until we have some more feedback. Anyway, I''l be playing on Sunday and we can reevaluate the issue after.
