Question for those who have attempted the solo challenge: did you like the kind of hybrid boomstick/biotic playstyle the challenge required? Would you consider running your adept specced this way again, e.g. in pugs, or are you going right back to a "biotic god" build?

I don't dislike this playstyle. it was fun for the purposes of the solo, but the ability of the human adept to detonate multiple BEs with warp + singularity (with the 6b evo) + warp is just too good yet it suffers with the slower recharges. If I were to pug with this kit I definitely would not use the claymore, I prefer lighter guns (my favorite human adept weapon is the falcon).

I would not say that tailing each other is any more of a teamplay than what you see in those vids which is actually harder to organize to begin with.

We also did Grosalgen but we had terrible spawns, terrible objectives and I got synced in the beginning of wave 9 so we got terrible time. We'll redo it tomorrow probably.

 

In other news, we tried the Insanity version of Arete with AW_FC_1986 and wiped on wave 9. He didn't have time for a second try, so we'll do it again some time next week. I'm quite satisfied with how that turned out, we got too sloppy and uncoordinated and got punished for it, as how I intended when creating the rules..

 

Regarding the duos, they are definitely possible, as we already managed the Insanity version of The Code Wills It! as well as the Hardcore, but I think it shoehorns the players too much into a certain playstyle and equipment. So I'm thinking we shall relax the no gel rule and have it only for objective waves. Full extraction will remain though, as it makes wave 11 something more interesting.

Sticking together limits spawn control which introduces more fun ways to wipe.

Sounds good. I'm back on Noveria, will update the HoF's tomorrow but I wil update that requirement in the OP now

- Some great runs line up x3lander's "Fight For the lost" HoF after weekend 1. The rules have also been slightly modified so that no medigel is permitted only on objective waves for duos (no medigel permitted at all still for trios). 

- TheTechnoTurian sets the record for Banzai Biotics at a blistering 25 mins pace!

- x3lander sets the benchmark in both hardcore and insanity duos, patnering up with AW_FC and muahmuah respectively! 

- AW_FC with four insanity solo completions for weekly solos series 2, opening up that series to platinum by submitting Insanity firsts for 3 of those challenges!

- x3lander and muahmuah are also the first team on the board for the difficult set 10 of series 2 of the duos with a great performance for Altahe

- muahmuah continues the N7 Platinum journey with a very nice submission for Annihilation!

Took us a couple of tries. We often failed because of rage-geling, accidentally blowing each other up with aboms, which resulted in no 3ws, or not getting enough medals. I really enjoyed the no medigel rule, it forced us to work better as a team and change our tactics quite a bit.
