Targets are usually bad, but with only 2 killstreaks going into wave 10, it worked in my favor. I may redo this, mainly because I'm still a bit disappointed at losing 10 WS due to a solitary death on wave 1.

Interesting.  Did you basically stick with the Acolyte the whole game?  I thought about giving that a try but didn't because Hornet loses like 300 something armor DPS going to Cryo.  Looks like I was focusing on the wrong thing.

Only used the acolyte. Shoot > throw on mooks, BEs on brutes and ravagers. All except 3-4 banshees were killed with missiles.

 

Since you are more familiar with mechanics than I am, I have a question:

The BE bug with ravager (warp > throw and only a bunch of swarmers die and ravager remains unharmed) - why does it happen? Is it because of a cap on BE? It happened so many times and I stopped focusing on ravagers past wave 8.

Yeah that is really damned annoying.

 

When it happened to me sometimes it looked like the Ravager took no damage and sometimes took 1 bar, which made me wonder if it wasn't the same bug as with tech burst.  If a tech burst hits a swarmer, the combo does 100 damage.  Warp / Throw combo should be something like 4300 ish vs armor on Gold, which is about half life for a Ravager.

 

If it was my imagination, or the warp or throw damage was really just knocking off a bar, then it might have been target cap.  But you would think the primed and detonated target would be the first thing to count against a cap. (Max 4, Max Ragdoll 2 in SP, 1 in MP)

I've had this bug multiple times. I've the feeling that it's random : I've had Ravagers surrounded by Swarmers taking damage, and Ravagers alone not taking damage... and vice versa.

Pretty derp game compared to a couple earlier attempts (that didn't end well, as you can surmise), but I ain't complaining! This is my first successful plat solo with unswitched targets (perhaps even with any targets, lol).

 

Looking forward to Indoctrinated (epic, the distinction is very important with this one), tried it today and got to w9 but didn't have any consumables left to get me through it because I rage-nuked the hell out of w4 and went on with it just because it's such a pleasure to play a truly tanky character with a weapon that can reliably headshot phantoms even when I shoot it for a change. (That's TSent+Carnifex  for those who *gasp* don't know all the challenges by name.)

I only turned off DM and HM off during objective waves (not the one with targets, though; needed damage more than survivability for that). If you're asking how many HMs are fired, it's 3, from the 'hydra missiles' evolution (6a), otherwise it would be 1.

 

Yeah, I'm bad with nukes in general, and especially near end-game, I get tired and nervous and it's where I make most mistakes. I feel much worse about that w8 nuke that killed nothing at all.

 

If you stand at the middle pillar, stuff can spawn behind you, next to the phone booth, and give you a nasty surprise. The booth gives more cover too, though it's kinda tricky with banshee warps.

Yep wave 10 targets really suck also on Gold, some days I like to think that the same sadistic EAware programmer that made sure that the 99k pacs mainly give us cryo ammo IV also implemented a increased probability of wave 10 targets or devices for solos.
