had a great time with this.  I will upload the vid in a bit.  Watch out for my super horrendous wave 1.  Wanted to use my no fitness build for this and at times it was great, but definitely hampered me some as well.  Thanks again Prestacious.


This build is really fun and I definitely recommend giving it a try with one of your vanguards.

Just one question about the current challenge... Is it normal that a turret deployed on wave 7 stays until wave 9?!? There are no engineers on wave 8, so it has to be the same turret from wave 7... Is it always like that or is it some kind of bug??

hazard ghost causes them to glitch for some reason.  I have had them stay alive for several waves and have seen up to 7 at a time on this map during my solo.

This is exactly what happened... They stay alive for several waves, it is especially annoying on w7 as there are soo many engineers around, they can set up turrets everywhere... So here we got an extra hazard I would say...

definitely.  I was gunned down by them a few times when I knew they should have already died off.  It sees that as long as the rain is constant, they will stay alive.  I noticed one that had been alive for a while finally explode when the rain stopped.

^ yeah It was an unforeseen additional hazard apparently. I had the same thing happen to me. Cerberus was working on some advanced turret shield technology ;)

Finally completed the last challenge I needed for the Leaderboard - Shepard's Clone Wars (Part 1). Objectives were Drone>Pizza>Targets.
Got really frustrated in previous attempts because I hate the Valkyrie a great deal, so I decided to go for a funky C-Shot and Grenade spamming power build.

I got 5 waves survived and thought things were going great right up till wave six when I stubborny refused to drop the pizza and run, and instead decided to grenade spam my way through the enemies before eventually getting cornered by dragoons - that whole disaster cost me 5 gels, 3 ops packs and a rocket. I considered giving up after that but thought what the hell, I might as well take a chance on it. Had to play a lot more cautiously though from wave 6 on but at least it's done. No more Valkyrie!

Woohoo! Now my name can go right on (the bottom of) the leaderboard! Oh, Yes.

Now onto the Insanity challenges and Barla Von challenge I've missed  :unsure:
And I will eventually get around to improving my times, I hope.

Thank you once more for all these Challenges Prestacious, it got me playing with some kits & weapons I'd not experienced in a while and they were mostly very good fun. Keep up the good work.

With the turrets, I don't believe it's a bug, but a side effect. The rain deals damage to shields, and something in the coding prevents it from damaging armor. I think that same code overrides the "alive" time, so when the rain stops the code shuts off, bye turret. I don't speak computer but it is the only logical explanation I have given myself so blah lol. Make sense? Oh well.

annd HoF updated. Nice job cato, getting to the completionist board. I like it! Glad you're enjoying the challenges and that they give you something to do with that insomnia!

@heroic: I'll check out your vid a lil later, still building inventory for some solo runs!

Edit: Sorry guys, correction made to the completionist leaderboard times. Now they make more sense. I left out a week for KB, and cato's was 10s off. :pinched:

Insanity finished w/ Tempest. This challenge sucked!! No more Hazard Ghost/Cerberus!! I killed 11 turrets during "Only 1 enemy left" on wave 7 and 9 combined.

Morning HoF update!

Nice job kocka on getting the insanity completion!

I tried yesterday and died in wave 9 at 39 mins :s, I actually liked doing insanity though. I love the saber. I had 18 headshots in wave 1, then got the last two with the first two shots of wave two. It's slow, but that kit is too much fun!

I then tried out novaguard again and got grabbed by an atlas at 26 mins in wave 9 :( Maybe a little too aggressive.

mmm... I tried to upload the video for the CAT6 challenge, but again the video file is corrupted. This time I couldn't fix it, I cannot not even play it in a video player. So I just did the challenge again, I was a few seconds slower, but whatever... I guess that after the latest update of my recording software playclaw, the codec they use is somehow corrupted on my system. I will be using MSI Afterburner from now on to avoid these problems...

So anyway... here is the video:


Just for fun: You really have to love those invulnerability frames, I wonder how much medigel/ops packs a normal class would have needed for this objective:


completion time is 24:31, so I guess that has to be updated too. Despite of all these problems the challenge was really great fun to do, the turret hazard is a bit annoying, but adds a nice bit of extra difficulty that makes it more interesting. Maybe we will see this kind of hazard in ME4?

Now let us see what this Human Sentinel can do...

^ Nice vid Max. I think your gameplay would have made "Father" Achire proud! The invulnerability is truly impressive face to face with that phantom dps and a dragoon or two. Now I'm looking forward to trying this again later today :)The sentinel is a lot more challenging but I still had fun with it.

I felt compelled to improve my First Blink After Coma time seeing as it was my poorest run. Cut the time down a little to 34 minutes using the same build as before. Objectives were Pizza>Hack>Targets.

I tried the insanity one from this week a couple times, with the Saber.

Devices in the rain... Trollgoons... But really it is the Nemesis and Atlas snipes that are the most annoying.

The turret thing is really lame too though. It was like there were 8 down on one late wave.

I'm just going to have to start using lvl I equipment now to complete these.

I'll play plat for 4 hours which buys me maybe 3 attempts at soloing with top equipment, thank you rng store. I fail each time and that's it till the next day! Meanwhile my 255 lvl I equipment is just taking space. Lol 60 mins solos here we come!

@ capn: Yeah, those turrets can be pretty frustrating. At the end of wave 7, when there's one atlas left, I go around and clean up all the turrets. lol

wave 7 and 8 really do get me on this insanity challenge. I go into them with almost full equipment and the phantom dragoon combos really get me. :?

 Finally i did it

For Thessia: It was my 6th attempt and i had really a hard time doing this. I dunno why i had such problems with the Justicar. After the 5th try, where i dropped wave 10 at 42 min, i tried a new build. Specced out of Biotic Sphere and maxed the rest. Then i dropped Power Amplifier 4 and put in a cyclonic. That worked in the end, but the time was horrible. Nearly 58 minutes shows me, how important that power amplifier module was. Also the game was trolling me hard with 2 times devices and a horrible wave 9. I killed a banshee and she spawns 2 meters behind me. Luckily i got out there.

Wave 3: Devices
Wave 6: Targets
Wave 10: Devices (2 of them down in the atrium :blink:)


Yesterday i cleared Indoctrinated.

Indoctrinated: Very smooth run in the end. Was my second try and i switched from Adrenaline to cyclonic. Worked well for me. Also i only made 2 Killstreaks but 4 Gold Medals. Time like always isn't that fast, but i rarely nuke, only wave 9 this time.

Wave 3: Escort
Wave 6: Hack
Wave 10: Pizza

If anyone wants the builds, i will post them. Tonight i will try the Destroyer on London.
