Nuke wave 8 do death against collectors.  Only 6 praetorians can spawn so save 3 rockets for double crabs.  Then all you have is scions and troopers/captains.  All other waves have abombs (except 6) so they are much faster.  I think maxshine or maxd have a great screenshot somewhere in this thread on where to start to effectively force spawns where you want for this challenge.

Only 3 medigels used on extraction wave.

Ahh man, that is painful to hear! This is definitely one of those challenges that you need days in between attempts. Or at least I do. One of these days tho...

Here's my entry for the 'Merely the weapon - Thane Krios' insanity challenge. Always wanted to do this challenge because Drell adept is my fav. kit in the game and Thane Krios is my fav character in ME series.

Pull mainly for aboms, shuriken was primary weapon, viper to shoot scions and praetorians at long range.

Sometimes I wonder whether its the enemy we fight or the RNG! 4 Device hacking with fast moving Praetorian is annoying and the RNG gave me this objective twice (waves 6 and 10) where there are two praetorians. And most of them were out in the open where the captains had a nice LoS. Damn you RNG! Barely finished wave 10 devices (with 5 seconds left on the clock). Anyway, here's the final screen (not a great timing but flimsy drell + shuriken vs. collectors is a real challenge):



Objectives: Upload (inside the reactor), devices, devices
Used 5 gels (4 of them in objective waves), 6 ops packs, 2 rockets

Nice job sam and kocka. You guys are beasts. Sam did you find this one tougher than your plat solo? Collector with a shuriken is definitely an accomplishment! Grats. Kocka, I can't believe you went right back and got it done after a wave 10 wipe, much respect.

Interesting question. I did feel the GT+acolyte plat solo was easier than this. Actually, I found it easier and cheesier than many of my gold solos lol. But then, this is Drell Adept. He is one of the few kits where I don't really have to think a lot while playing, because I love that kit and I have played a lot with it.

I just tried the Destroyer challenge with typhoon, got grabbed by an invisible banshee on wave 9.

i know the vids/pics from then, but my game seems to be different. they never spawn there, only one time and that was also a ****ed up one, because both praetorians spawned somewhere else. Tried it again a few hours ago and this time i dropped at wave 9, because i ran out of gels. Had some bad luck, got stuck 2 times because of the everything button and one time i clustered a Abomb right on top of me 

Anyways, i will do it the next few days.

Tried the mordus challenge and got 3 escorts, 2 of them through turret area. That cost me to much gels and after wave 10 objective i could'nt get the job done. But was a smooth run and i will definitely do that. Leaving both clone wars for the end^^

 Here's my insanity run for CAT6. I had an incredible wave 1 with 20 headshots, got 5 grabs in wave 2. I then decided to try to go for the flawless solo. I get devices on wave 6 and still make it through without using anything. It was flawless until a phantom got me on the ladder in wave 8 . I then rage missiled wave 9, and didn't hit anything with 2 of them lol. I get targets with 1 missile left and luckily was able to switch to phantoms. Still, it was stressful.
All in all, it was a fun run. I absolutely love the saber with a scope. It is by far my favorite gun in the game.  Next I need to see how fast I can go with the novaguard and give Barla another attempt. HoF updated!

Good job on the Mordus attempt. It's funny, for that challenge escort and objects are not really that favorable either. As far as the respawning for Merely the Weapon, I'm really not too sure. I followed the same technique that MaxShine showed in his vid for my insanity run. For the most part, it did respawn on the other side of the map.

I only had AR II (sad, I know) and cyclonic III. But I wasn't going for time with this one, especially once I decided to try to do it flawlessly.

Here's my entry for 'Now I am become death - the destroyer of worlds' hardcore challenge. I did this challenge inspired by people doing flawless solos in the forum But it didn't quite turn out to be flawless but came pretty close.

Consumables used: 1 medigel, 2 ops, 1 rocket
Objectives: Center hack, Targets, Center hack (damn you RNG for two center hacks, though at two slightly diff. locations)
The only medi-gel used was in the last objective wave where it gave me a center hack . And the rocket to clear that wave as its been quite a long solo. Anyway, here's the final screen:


I only have the Typhoon II, I am not sure how good the higher levels are but I felt its not the best gun for solos.  I realized in this solo how awesome shield power cells are.

And I have a pretty nooby question to all the soloers out there. How do you people finish gold solo in under 30 or 40 minutes? I can do gold solos with many kits but there are very few kits with which I can achieve such times. I can do sub-30 minute solos but only with certain kits and on certain maps like Glacier, White, Giant etc. I know some of it comes down to the RNG behavior but that might vary the time by a max. of 5 minutes. Any tips are welcome. Thanks.

^Nice job didacus and sam. That really sucks about the close extraction. I've had a few of those so I know the frustration.

@sam: I've never had a sub 30 solo yet, so I might not be the best one to give any advice. I find in general, the more you solo, the quicker you'll get. Also, learning about game mechanics and spawns has helped. Watching the vids has given me insight into how to solo more quickly too.

Edit: @kocka: Thanks! Saber skills are alright I guess, for a 56 min solo lol. At least they look good in wave 1! vid should be up tomorrow BE was probably the smarter way to handle it, I just have too much fun with the saber to not try to headshot all the things.

T - 18 hrs till Next week's challenge!
