Personally I don't think maxing Turret for shields is worth it any longer. It is only sort of worth it if you want Flamethrower.

I like the 3/6/6/6/5 build that I switched into mainly because he is a fairly tanky weapons platform that way. Also w/ shield damage at Rank 6 Overload you are stripping more shields.

I did GE platinum solo w/ 4/6/6/6/4 and Javelin, and did the no-fitness one on Gold w/ PPR. Overall I like my current one the best.

Thanks for the tips. In hindsight, I should have fiddled around with the builder first. I may go with your build or even 3/6/5/6/6 to get that extra protection since I'm not worried about time for the insanity one. I should have a chance to re-attempt on Sunday.

 Finally got some time for solos. So, I tried the Legion insanity challenge. It was painful alright, but the servers disconnected me on wave 8 (got 5 waves survived medal, 20 HS, all the good stuff etc.) Then I rage promoted my engineer class and got the N7 challenge unlocked (finally). So, I tried the Drell insanity challenge once again and this is what happens on wave 10:



I was doing quite well, clocked around 45 mins or so when this happened. So annoying

Yeesh, I think I'm going to pass on that one. I don't think I'll be able to look at two Primes standing next to eachother without compulsively using a missile.


@bgsam, I feel your pain. I dc'd on the Legion Insanity challenge three times in under two hours, and I vented my frustrations in the PS3 chat room.

@Prestacious: When you say no ammo for the flawless requirement, you mean the thermal clip packs right? Or is it the ammo type (incendiary, phasic etc)?

I'd assume he means no special ammo types, since "Flawless" means no missiles/ops/gels/clips used.

You going to give this one a shot FoP? It looks much less frustrating than the last bonus challenge, still very difficult of course for mere mortals like me though.

Yeah sorry, I'll clarify. No thermal clips cato is right. You can use equipment and gear on your loadout screen. But in game, no thermal clips, ops packs, medigels or missiles

I intentionally make the bonus challenges really difficult. I also will complete them myself not to worry. I will get that volus one soon

I'll give it like one try, but I know I don't have the patience for a flawless solo (i.e. 80min+ because I'm a scrub). I'll probably get shot by both Primes at the same time on Wave 9 and rage.

How about you?

Yeah, I'll try to get this one done, though it will likely be very slow. At least I like the weapons for this challenge (mainly the Lancer, but still). I might need to cover the d-pad in some way to stop reflexively hitting for oops packs or thermal clips.

 Nicely done. Yeah, that might be an issue.

Uggh! I like the kit/weapons, but map/faction is brutal for flawless. Not only will you have to be great, you are totally RNG dependent too. Might try a couple times, but may not complete this one.

If you can use a rocket, ops pack, or thermal clip to save 10 minutes, is it more correct to do that or to not use them whatsoever?

Gave this a run with subpar equipment to see how ridiculous it would be.

First 2 waves were ok, got Targets on wave 3 so I decided I had to use a rocket with about 30 seconds left to change it. Got 3 waves survived.

Got flanked by a re-spawn Hunter on 5 and died. Wave 6 hack was easy.

Decided to try to finish it off, got another 3 waves survived after wave 8. Only had used 1 gel and 1 rocket.

Got destroyed in wave 9 and wiped after 69 minutes. Just too many rockets flying from every direction with all the Prime stun lock.

@capn: I agree, I think it's hard to define what flawless is, but for this challenge, it's just making it through a full extraction without needing any additional equipment.

@cato: that's actually really impressive for time. I didn't think this could be be done anywhere near that quickly. Nice run!

@kocka, yeah, targets will be really really tough without switching for this challenge as will devices (or at least the center device)

Here is my week 8 insanity run...

I can only say, I had a hard time hitting anything sometimes with my Saber... Took me 2min to kill a last Nemesis alive. lol
To the objectives, I wish I'd got others. Pizzas got harry and Targets, well... I had 4 missiles, first one changed the target to a Phantom and second one missed... Extracted with 2 missiles. >.<
It was a smooth run apart from objectives though, I took my time and circled around the map counterclock wise. Thanks to Knocking for this tip.

^ Another solid run didacus. I like how you've systematically gone through almost all 2 months of challenges so quickly! Love the saber though it can be tough especially against skittish cerberus. HoF updated

Doing the insanity will get the insanity completion and counts for the completion leaaderboard. The hardcore challenge is often done as well to improve times, but it isn't needed good luck!

After getting pretty close on my first attempt I thought 'meh, this challenge isn't too hard'................I then failed the next two attempts on wave 1.

Failed another couple after that but finally got it done. I got lucky with objectives again (no targets or 4 devices) - Pizza>Hack>Drone. Here's the build if anyone's interested, I went for power upgrades in the passive but I really didn't use enough grenades to warrant that choice. Also, I didn't use the Mantis at all, it just kept my missile launcher company.



Respect to Invaderone, I've got no idea how he can manage to do these so often.

^ wow. cato_BEAST! I'm surprised you didn't go for the extra health in passives. I think I would struggle with this build personally. I'm a scrub though!
