Yeah it's a tough map. I've been sticking to the right lower area, with the stacks and tons of cover, trying to make myself a sort of smaller circuit within the large map. It's been working ok, I'll let you know how it goes when I actually complete that challenge. lol

Took a quick run at the Collector Hardcore challenge. Was going smoothly until a horrendous wave 6 devices. I may try to improve the time as I am not too excited about it, but it is good for now.

 Here's my entry for 'From the Shadows of Villa - Insanity' challenge. A comically long solo - I had to attend to some important stuff around wave 5, so I left a Nemesis alive and hid in the Box of Shame and resumed the game after 25 mins or so (with frequent checks in between to make sure nothing stupid happens). I've never been killed in such a situation and thus felt confident. 

Here's the final screen:


Objectives: Devices (all in well covered spots luckily) > Targets > Escort (full length of the map, thanks RNG for trolling me <_<)
Standard 6/6/3/5/6 with 3 ranks in E/Slash. Typical full-on melee build. 
Loadout: Eagle V + melee stunner + piercing mod
Gear: Juggernaut shields V, cyclonic III, disruptor IV (to help with easy headshots), strength enhancer III

Edit: This is my first solo with shadow, first solo on rio, first solo with eagle - a lots of firsts. I am not sure if any spawn control is possible on this map and so I never tried to do such a thing. Not sure how others tackle spawns though.

50 melee kills with the Justicar is dumb- just saying. 2 wave 7 deaths because I ran out of gels. Didn't even make it to 50 on one of the runs. (I was using subpar equipment, though, to see how it was going to work)

@Prestacious: I want to do the Collector insanity challenge but don't have the CSMG. Can I use some other smg like BPP (about the same weight I think) just for the weight factor and use only the CAR? It is the one weapon I need to unlock.

I think that's actually pretty fair if you don't use the BPP, nice thinking Good luck!

FU!!!!! Died with 1 second left running to LZ!!!

I melee'd every enemy wave 1 and 2, except last 2 Guardians on 2. Got 25 melee kills the same time as 25 kills. Got melee kills on cleanup of wave 3.

Oh man! That is so brutal kocka :s Nice attempt though, you got this challenge basically in the bag.

You are probably the only one to even get that close so far! (I had one challenge were I died with 2 sec left in LZ... used my last medigel but it wasn't in time - rage!!!)

I wanted to attempt some solos yesterday but 8 straight platinum games for the Lodestar Pt II S.P.E.C.T.E.R thread took up all the time. Great games though! 

 Hopefully I can re-attempt some solos tomorrow before I leave town!

TARGETS!!!!!!! Missile the first one with 2 engineers and a phantom. Doesn't change!!! Thermal clipped second one couldn't get the 3rd. All that work (73 minutes) and doing wave 6 devices for nothing.

Aww man! Your posts are killing me! And I thought I had determination with my 155 min solo... I have a feeling I'm going to be having similar runs when I have a chance to attempt this one. I can't believe the targets didn't switch, that one was yours. Much quicker than the last close one too.

If the challenge is too insane, I can change it to 25 or 10 melee kills. What do you think?

Yes.  50 requires you to kill every enemy for 2 full waves plus a couple more.  How about 25 melee plus 5 grabs?  This also takes away a gold medal, though.

melee kills always have been a bit iffy  

I'm fine with any other insanity challenge though
