Nice job kocka! That is a tough challenge, especially on Rio. Currently going through mass effect withdrawal and I'm not able to update the hof I need to find a pc I can use while on vacation. The mission begins.

 Here's my entry for 'Mordus Insanity challenge'. My first solo with the SE and also my first with the venom. Not a great time but that is largely due to me being not-gold-standards with the venom. Roughly half my shots missed and had quite a hard time dealing with guardians. But I loved sending phantoms and dragoons flying. 



Objectives: Devices > Escort > Targets (was a nightmare)
Venom III + spare clips + high velocity barrel
Geth scanner V, power amp IV, incendiary IV, shotgun rail amp III
(no cyclonic as I was feeling confident with my ED and 40% DR)

^nice job bgsam. I agree, killing phantoms had to be the most rewarding part of that challenge. You did it with devices too which is impressive, on Jade especially. We're you able to target switch on 10? I'll update HoF tmrw a.m.

^ Thank goodness the devices were on wave 3 - I would have probably considered rage quitting if it was wave 10.Targets was tricky. I rage-nuked 2 turrets with 2 missiles on wave 7 as I got downed twice on that wave - one turret kills me, i get up and another one kills me. So, I nuked only once on wave 8 and once on 9 (spent one on wave 5). So, come wave 10, I had only 1 rocket. Luckily, I did get a target switch. I watched capn233's video for this challenge to figure out the spawn control tactic and it helped me to get the target to switch. I guess he deserves a special mention.

Edit: On targets, the nightmare part was what followed after the switch. Was constantly getting surrounded. Decoy helped a lot though. Stupid phantoms lol.

HoF Updated

@bgsam: Yeah, I hope to redo this one using the spawn techniques used by heroic and capn and many others. I still haven´t done this one with the infiltrator yet. When I get back from vacation, I have a marathon of solos to do!

This challenge got particularly more difficult with swarming of enemies in the later waves. It was also one of the most difficult extraction waves of them all, with dragoons rushing you and Atlases pegging you from anywhere on the map!

My game's been acting up as of lately.... 5 objective waves in a row were devices yesterday and i ALWAYS get wave 6 devices now (7+ tries on the solos....)

I got back into trying a new solo, but I'm pretty sure I'll need some time to try one again (if ever).

I attempted the Hardcore Collector solo, but I rage-quit after about 90 seconds. I'm getting tired of this game.

@d_nought: impressive time nonetheless! I'll check out the vid and update hof in a couple hours

@dh: yeah looks like it's your turn with the string of devices :s brutal. Luckily it won't last forever.

@kaxas: yeah tough solos can be particularly draining. I actually don't mind being away for a little right now. I'll hopefully have some renewed vigor when I get back. I want heart of hydra.

^^^^^ Good call on Heart of Hydra. Forgot about that one. Tried the Omega/Hardcore challenge and was raging the whole game. Every enemy except Dragoons, just camp out and take cover. They won't funnel through your bubble and all they do is chuck grenades where they think you are trying to go. Was at 17 minutes on wave 7 and ran out of gels.

Interesting. I wonder if pull could actually come in handy for this one in that case. I spec'd out of it for the justicar reaper challenge. Wish I could give it an attempt but I'm still away til next Tuesday :s. Some people used pull and reave really effectively in that challenge.

It´s gold (All of these challenges are gold, but don´t worry, they´re tough enough on gold!)

^ my best was wave 9, when I accidentally used a thermal clip. It was a bad rage quit lol ill try again soon though.

@jamesbrown: cato actually did it using the lancer only. Could be an option instead of sniping.

I actually got past wave 10 objective and died trying to kill the last 8 enemies a while back- probably why I stopped trying. Tried a few today here were my results (also another reason I quit trying):

1. Wave 3- devices (4th point on crate of destiny)
2. Wave 6- devices (4th point right by LZ and prime was stuck in LZ spawn!!)
3. Wave 1 derp
4. Wave 3 devices (1st point was crate of destiny)
5. Wave 3 devices (completed)-- Wave 6 Targets!!!

So out of 6 objectives I got Devices X4, 1 Targets and 1 Escort). Might try again tonight- but need a break now.

@kocka - that's brutal, unlucky. It's becoming ever clearer to me just how lucky I got in that challenge.
Most of the time getting a Prime stuck at the LZ was a godsend - meant I only had to deal with one of the b.stards but having a device spawn there too must have been infuriating.

Yes this is a really slow time. My 1st attempt was 28 min at wave 10. the reason why this one was so slow is because my luck with objectives. wave 3 : targets (4 pratorian) wave 6 (4pratarion) wave 10 devices and I also got that tricky devise in the middle of glacier

@kocka: I can't even believe that luck. Brutal man. I did actually managed to get through wave 3 devices the one time, when I got to wave 9. it's targets that kills me! I basically just attempt the other challenges and occasionally test my luck with a heart of hydra run. Lol

Now I have to go drink a beer and change my shirt due to all the sweat I had during waves 9 through extraction.  I think I spend the entire game after wave 9 in health gate.
