I hope Bioware revamps that blasted vehicle called the Mako...

As a means of planetary exploration, that vehicle was a nightmare.

An absolute nightmare!!

These are simple things that take away from the gameplay experience

I hope they fix the blasted Mako this time

If by fix, you mean remove. Then yes they fixed it.

If they eliminated the Mako, how does Shepard travel after landing on a planet?

It's Hover vespa. One of your squadmates ride on the back, and one in the side car.

The vehicle that drops you to specific locations is the Kodiak dropship. The devs have spoke of a vehicle named the hammerhead that replaces the Mako its pretty hush hush. They seem to want to surprise us alot, with the talk of this Day 1 DLC (the downloadable Merc) I'm pretty sure there is a drivable vehicle

The Kodiak is the drop pod, that brings you right to a location.

The Hammerhead is the new exploration vehicle, which works sort of like the hovertank from Battlefield 2142.

(Mako and Hammerhead are both types of shark)

I dont see why we would need the Hammerhead since the Kodiak can bring us where we need to go fast. The hammerhead would be a waste of time :S? Unless you want to seek out enemies which arent positioned at a base..

Any sort of organised force entrenched in a defensive position tend to have AA defence. So a ground vehicle is needed as well.

Yea there is no more Mako, now it's some little pod/drop ship thing.

Christ, I spoke too soon.

Maladosteo, you're incorrect.

The Kodiak Drop Ship does not replace the Mako in it's entirety

There will be a drivable vehicle called the Hammerhead

In terms of sharks, the Mako is like 1,000 times cooler than the Hammerhead.

One of the early videos showed some interesting concept art of what might be the Hammerhead.

It's at 0:37. It looks mostly like the old Mako (possibly bigger) but with hover pods instead of wheels.  The kodiak also shows up later in the same video so they're probably not the same thing.

EDIT:  Here it is.  Concept art so who knows?

The only thing I felt the Mako needed was a pair of those jumpjet booster rocket things on the back. So when you're climbing one stupid mountain or another, and you've lost all momentum, you just press a button and push yourself over the top.

The jump jets should've rotated so they were always pointing straight down. Would've made jumps a lot easier.

So if I understand this thread correctly, every visit to a planet is a Kodiak moment?

I guess this makes the game a bit more like Kotor, and a bit less like SC2.

I prefer SC2, but I know many prefer the other.
