What if my hawke did not kill anders even if I hated him? What if I RPed a hawke that knew there was no going back from his actions and brought him along to the final battle to help even if he didn't agree. I left him alive, but I still hate him. Why should I have to suffer his reapearence in the next game? You're attempt to demand things put into this game just because you like them and screw whatever anybody else says is just dumb. This thread should be locked if you are going to blatantly  say "only people who agree with me can post."

I kinda left the forums and now I feel like we should discuss Anders possible roles in Inquisition further.

Anders kind - of started the mage /templar war. So it would make 0 sense for him not to be apart of DAI in some way . I'd be happy if he returned . I killed him in only 1 save file.

I've got playthroughs where:

I romanced Anders and murder-knifed him (or didn't romance him and murder knifed him)...I would love to know what happens to the now disembodied Vengance (would he mellow and return to being Justice...or would his conversion to a demon be complete?) I'm assuming by killing Anders in such a manner the spirit fully becomes Vengance.

I romanced/didn't romance Anders and kept him alive and helped the mages. When a romanced Anders and Hawke leave Kirkwall, since Anders is no longer with Hawke.....what does he do? Does he continue on a templar killing spree? Does he try to help bring peace between those of the two factions that want it? Does Vanders go off the deep end and become a true abomination/demon? Meaning, does Vengance get even more corrupted and turn into a full demon? For a non romanced Anders, once he leaves Kirkwall...what is he up to?

I kept him alive, sided against the mages, and convinced him to work with me and the templars. Does he make good on his implied comment and commit suicide later? If he does kill himself, would this action change what happens to the disembodied Justice/Vengance spirit? (meaning, since by having anders side against the mages, Anders 'sees the errors of his ways' and maybe that effects Justice in some manner? I would assume keeping him alive and supporting the mages would be Hawke supporting the conversion of Justice to Vengance and the full melding of Anders and Justice/Vengance....while supporting the templars would change that outcome somewhat.)

I let him live and told him never to cross paths with me again. And he confronted me when I went to help the templars and then I kill him (see thoughts on when you murder-knife him). And playthroughs where I supported the mages and told him I don't need his help and he leaves. He's still alive....somewhere.....maybe him and Justice/Vengance mellow a littel and help to try to clean up the mess...or does he totally go off the wall?


His actions in DA2 were pretty significant to the world-state for DA:I.....so at the least I'd like a codex entry or a sidequest where what happened between Hawke and Anders is mentioned (like the girl you rescue on the Wounded Coast.....if you let Fenryil go to Tevinter she mentions seeing him in her dreams). But Anders as a companion or NPC? No thanks.

Yes, I would love to see Anders again. He is one of my favorites D.A. characters and I would really like to see how the situation with Justice "developed".
I know that many see his action as nothing more than terrorism, but I do not. Granted, it wasn't a noble or commendable action yet it was not a meaningless action, if it were no other Circle would have rebelled. At least this is what I think.
Back on track: I hope those who upload/configure a game with him alive will be able to see him and know what has happened to him.

I want his actions mentioned, but I don't want to see him again. My current play session is a two handed weapon wielding agressive pro-Templar lady. I even use the Dalls Templar mod, which does give a nice recolor of Merdith's armor as well as a recolor of her pre-Act 3 sword. Note: I wouldn't recommend it for anything less than Hard mode. I went the Templar spec with her and with very few exceptions, she's pro-Circle.

That being said, even on pro-Templar sessions I leave Anders alive. Why? Mainly because I don't need meta-knowledge to know the power that martyrs have in Thedas.

In a few of my playthroughs, my lady Hawke has run off with him. Still, other than a possible mention of his fate, he can stay away from the game. My favorite expression for my pro-Templar sessions is "Shut up, Anders." I'm a pro-mage PC most of the time, but even then Anders ended up her rival on some of them. Extremism only leads to war, pain and suffering. As we players will see here in about 10 months or so...
