I can't even describe how many times i would acquire a new weapon and think: Oooh a new weapon!
and then it turns out it looks exactly like my old weapon just with different colours<_<
Even most of the unique weapons had the same model as the common weapons.
Though the sword in the new background looks sexy as:O Looks easily better than any of the weapons in the previous Dragon age games.
But anyway, please Bioware give us better looking weapons!

eeewh...i don't want that kind of sword
Just make it simple, with some decoration...no more ridiculous and exaggerated looking weapons and armor
A Katana already beautiful without any exaggeration, because the Katana itself is an art. Simple and clean looking. if a Katana being made with some spiky thing here and there, or having crude blade, it become ugly

He's talking about reusing the same models with palette swaps. It would stand to reason that all "iron longswords" would look similar, but special "named" weapons should be unique. . and powerful ones need to have twinkles.

Don't forget the explosions, elemental magic is boring without them.John Epler wrote...

I love me some staves, but some of the staves in DA2 were hideous. Some of them were awesome (one of my favorites, for instsance, was Stone Eater). But man were some ugly. They looked like...chunky pieces of coral that you could never hold on to (or would that be...on to which you could never hold?).

The blade of a weapon can also be beautiful without exaggeration look, it is because the technique to create the blade. Such as Katana blade have some wavy pattern on it, and so other types of sword with own unique characteristic
Some sword blades have runic letters on it such as in Viking sword, some have holy scriptures such as in Arab sword...some are written with gold.
In fantasy setting, the blade can be made with some special effect, such as whenever the blade is drawn or hit it is glowing, or any other special effect. The blade can be normal or simple but the special effects make it special
One thing i always disappointed is the bow design in most games, too ugly and ridiculous looking. The normal real life bow is already beautiful and practical. No need to be exaggerated too much. In Skyrim i like the low tier bow instead of Daedric or Ebony the tier tier ones. In DA:O most of the bows look good only oversized, but in DA2 it most bows being ridiculous

I just hope we don't have comically chunky looking weapons. With the new engine and all, hopefully they can have more sensibly sized weapons.
And bowstrings.

My guess would be 'clumsy' and 'anticlimatic.' With the guy who gets in the first hit winning most of the time.

And Bowstring Day One DLC as they are obviously too time consuming to be worked on during the initial production of Dragon Age games.

Oh please, weapon sheaths. Please.
Seconded.
"The flying weapon on your back" was awkward. Mostly in DA2
And bowstrings would be nice as well

Enough features on them to tell them apart but not "blinged" up so they look like SnoopDogg's(or whatever animal he likes to be called now) cane maker designed them.
DA2 went a bit overboard with some of the designs for two handers.

Looks pretty nice (other than the low-quality handle), but I'd expect them to come up with more original and better looking weapons.AresKeith wrote...

Didn't people complain about that though in Dragon Age II with the uniques? Some were palette swaps yes, but they also didn't like the design of the weapons either from what I remember.
