I just hope we don't have comically chunky looking weapons. With the new engine and all, hopefully they can have more sensibly sized weapons.

Given your past history as long as there is just one weapon that does not meat your criteria for not being comically chunky you will complain.

And bowstrings.

Now you are just asking for miracles

Bowstrings! Yes please :D

I know its a little detail, but yes, can we please have bowstrings?  Pretty please?

Came in for this and wasn't disappointed.  This is what Bioware should have shown if they really wanted to get people excited again.

Rapiers for rogues please. A Duelist with a dagger is just embarassing.

Dude. Viking swords are incredibly boring(this* is extravagant in comparison). At least if you're historically accurate. If you're talking about the weapons added to Skyrim in the Dragonborn DLC, perhaps you should be more specific.

*Edit: For the record, that's my favourite late-game single-handed weapon in Origins.

This. Autoattacking the whole game on my duelists because I didn't want anything in my off hand was boring to say the least. Remember KotOR?

I don't know what you'd consider lazy, but we've already got a decent number. And likely more to come.

But, we'll take it under advisement. *scribbles note - more weapons*

Another note, please import all those awesome looking mage cowls. Those things looked badass! ;)

Need more deadly looking stuff like these claws. Some throwing blades etc. And I have to agree on the sheaths. No more magical weapon floating in the air on the characters back. please

Please give mages some sort of armor like Champion Armor in DA2 but more.
Also, make robes look like robes and not pajamas!

I demand a sister (Cousin? Relative of a particular design?) of Bianca that fires more crossbows that shoot men playing lighting-shooting electric guitars which explode into extremely irritated Honey Badgers on impact.

Make it happen, Bioware! :D

That sword totally has glitter on it. I can just imagine the Inquisitor flailing around with that and shrieking "RESPEK MAH AUTHORITAH."

That depends. ‘Viking’ swords, particularly the rusty museum pieces or most cheap modern replicas, don’t look all that spectacular, I agree. But they – and the broader group of very similar early medieval European swords derived from the late Roman spatha – also included some spectacular pieces.

The real problem with those, though, is that the kind of beautifully detailed decoration typical of fine weapons of that day and age are hard to see in a videogame, particularly a party-based tactical game like the DA titles. That also applies to other beautifully detailed weapons or armour.

Some of the weapons from the Sunwell Plateau in WoW had some really nice and ominous designs. I'd like to see something down that alley for DA:I, perhaps as Tevinter armaments?

eeewh...i don't want that kind of sword

Just make it simple, with some decoration...no more ridiculous and exaggerated looking weapons and armor

A Katana already beautiful without any exaggeration, because the Katana itself is an art. Simple and clean looking. if a Katana being made with some spiky thing here and there, or having crude blade, it become ugly

I agree with you, especially with the Katana part.I prefer real looking weapons, but I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 weapons looking all fantasy like. And the only fantasy Katana I will ever accept is the Masamune :)

Bioware will not be lazy with weapon models. The sheer power of Frostbite 3 makes the notion of lazy models of anything almost nonexistent. Even if the players are not happy with the textures and models, I'm pretty sure we will have mods & ENBs to make up for them.

However I would like to see more artifacts. Legendary weapons and armors that has its own quest. We have had unique items before in Dragon Age but most of them came from DLCs like Mage Pack or Rogue Pack. I would like to see quests for a powerful staff or a long lost sword which has unique abilities.

Remember Wabbajack, Auriel's Bow, Spellbreaker, Nightingale Armor Set and The Gauldur Amulet from Skyrim ? Weapons & armors of powerful people / gods, each having its own unique quest to unlock

I would like to see such items in Inquisition. Maybe powerful staff belonging to a famous archmage / blood mage of old or an armor set that belonged to a famous ruler. I mean yes, I know we had these through packs but I would rather like to earn them in game by going through a dark dungeon filled with traps & puzzles.

I can't be the only one who sees the variety of weapon models as one of the least important aspects of DAI.

People care about this enough to make a thread about it? Unbelievable. I couldn't care less if I go through three or ten different staff or robe models for my mage, as long as those that exist look good.

What I care about is making some of the swords smaller. The ridiculous sizes of some seriously detracts from suspension of disbelief.

It's Meredith's Lyrium Sword.

I can't remember whether she used it primarily one-handed or two-handed but I do remember she flung it around like it was a children's toy.

I forgot about her sword. The grip seems to indicate it's a two-handed sword (at least referencing DA2's greatswords).
Yeah, the way she handled her sword was ridicolous. I hope swords animations are a bit better in DAI.

I'd rather have fewer, simpler designs really. I'd worry that if they feel the need to have loads of models they'll want them to be very visibly distinct, which is going to end up meaning silly.
