Hi,
      I found a battleaxe with this feat. Could you please tell me how this applies?

Every critical hit that deals physical damage will cause the target to die if they fail a reflex save at the given DC. Death magic immunity does not prevent death. In essence, it is similar to the devastating critical feat but typically with a lower DC from a different type of saving throw.

As usually described, it kills by beheading the foe. It's named after the vorpal sword in the poem Jabberwocky, with which the main character beheads the Jabberwock.

FWIW, it's a powerful property, but significantly less powerful than the devastating critical feat. The highest save DC normally available in the toolset for the vorpal property is 26. A toon with DevCrit will be hitting with a minimum save DC of 27 (assuming the attacker is not strength decreased, cursed, or something similar), and that goes up with level and any strength buffs.

(That's not to dismiss the uber-ness of the vorpal property. Just noting that a feat that is quite common at epic levels is typically more deadly. I suppose a DevCritter wielding a vorpal weapon would really be in munchkin heaven. :lol:)

Strictly speaking, Vorpal has a reflex save and not fortitude, which could theoretically matter.

Also, a non-strength character can get a Vorpal weapon.

Though I would have to admit that the dev crit of the goblin shark is definitely within the typical vorpal range.

LOL. I had never seen that shark. Yes, most PCs coming close to that fish are going to wish they had never left the desert. DC 16 (17 while frenzied) is a rough save at the levels where one is likely to encounter a CR 2 creature!

And, MM, agreed of course that the reflex save is a significant difference. In all honesty, there are many environments (possibly the most common?) in which there are mobs with high fort saves where I would prefer to be hitting them with a reflex-save attack instead of hoping they roll a 1 against my dev crit. (That's part of why my toons seldom take that feat.) But, WhiZard had already noted that the save was different and my point was that a more potent attack (other things being equal) was pretty common in the epics.
