 i have dragon age Origins and dragon age 2

for some reason i  can not play it from the beginning so i can meet Alistair for the first time.

can some one please help me?

I do have add on's for the first game as well.

When i say a new game i end up starting at the keep where i start to fight the darkspawn and the intro says it's after the blight. 

so how do i get to play the first before the add-ons and dragons age 2?

hope some one can help me with a answer.

The above should only happen if you start Dragon Age Awakening.

There is no way to play Dragon Age Origins without meeting Alistair at one point.

Edit: you seem to have the ultimate edition. Make sure you have the correct disc when you play.

I brought mine as a bundle and only have the Steam keys for it.
so how can i do it?

I don't have an ultimate edition myself, but Origins and Awakening are two separate games, and the main menu should give you the option to start either one or the other (as well as any of the standalone DLCs).

Thanks i will try that and if it doesn't work i will let you know

If it persists, you could also try the Steam tech support. I recall this type of problem occurring for others as well.

I finally got it to let me play the original game took a few times of starting the game and saying new game for it to give me the choice
