I loved that about DA2 how people could be funny when they follow you. I know this game is supposed to be serious but I hope they keep this stuff

DA:O and DA2 were both supposed to be serious, and as you say, there were still jokes.

NPCs have to makes fun of Cassandra stabbing things and reading Hard to Hightown 2.

Beside that, I expect lots of sarcasm...

I don't remember there being anything funny about DA2.

There's no way there won't be hilarious companion banter. This is a BioWare game - it doesn't matter how dark things get, someone always has some dialogue about Giant Space Hamsters or there's a Kobold Bard or Alistair wants Wynne to darn his socks.

There was that side-splitingly funny sidequest invovling Hawkes mom.

DA:O was funny, don't recall much hilarity in DA2 (but then I've only played through once). DA:O also had better voice talent, which helped.

I'm not surprised you didn't get any of the jokes. :pinched:

Hawk:I doubt anyone is looking at their shoes

or when issabela gives varric the story about aveline and donnic and aveline over heard them that was hilaroius

Even though I couldn't stand Isabella, I must admit her 'apostitute' line was pretty funny.

I doubt they'd remove the humour. Too much doom and gloom loses its impact if there's no light-heartedness to break up the misery.

I'm sure there will be companion banter in the next game. I loved it in both the previous games. From Wynne's and Zevran's teasing of Alistair to Isabela's advice to 'Kitten' Merrill.

Games need a bit of humour!

C'mon. DA2 had a lot of faults, but the banter was still amazing and hilarious!

Aveline and Isabela. Merill and Isabela. Varric and Isabela. Isabela and Sebastian. Isabela and Anders.

...

Okay, maybe it was more Isabela who was hilarious rather than the banter. >.>

I'm pretty sure Bioware will add some humor/sarcasm to offset the obviously dark nature of DA3 (with all the war and death going on). One of my fondest moments is when first meeting Anders in Awakening when he says "I didn't do it". I still laugh every time i watch it.

I think they Michael Bay would stop using explosions before BioWare would stop using this witty, sitcom type of humor for companion dialog that they have throughout both ME and DA franchises.

Pretty much, Isabela and Varric were the hilarious ones. xD
Fenris and Anders had some funny sarcastic lines. Everyone had at least a sarcastic line, but leave it too Isabela and Varric to have the most though. ^_^

I don't like it when it is forced, as it was in most of DA2.

I'm 99% sure that Bioware will have the funny moments with your companions and smart remarks.

Not only that but both games broke the fourth wall (Gossips in Lake Calenhad. and that talkative man in the hanged man)

Hey Bioware writers.

No memes. Especially memes from your previous games. Alistair saying swooping is bad in DA2 was positively cringe worthy

Because Alistair delivers witty, one liners and Zevran delivered the pervy witty jokes.
And Oghren was...well, Oghren.

Morrigan was funny also, but Oghren and Alistair were my favorites on sarcasm.

I agree. The levity really makes things more fun. Life just isn't dark and grim all the time. People will find ways to smile and laugh. I loved how Isabela gave Aveline such a hard time, just too funny. "Aveline, if you shove your thumb up his ass, I win." , and many many more that made the all too stuffy Ave blush and get mad.

I gotta admit DA:O was alot funnier then DA2 I mean how can anyone forget Alistair and Oghren's talk about stress release by 'polishing the old weapon' or Shale's 'bird thing'.
I mean there was very little comedy in DA2 it was more like mild wit if anything and even that's putting it at a stretch
