the batarian, ever since the humans reached out to the galaxy and started expanding through space. the batarians were after them. killing, enslaving, raping and doing whatever they could do to get away with it.

How would you deal with the batarian threat?

Spam the extranet with fake information that the Batarians were planning to attack the Geth. Then wait for the Batarian combous to go silent.
Then I can scratch them off the list.

Tbh, after me3 I doubg they will be that much of threat, there could be afew slavers and pirates I guess.

Have the leaders of the hegemony eliminated, and run out any colonies they may have established. I would not advocate just killing off lots of Batarians, since they can be swayed, but this whole "cultural rights" crap and the slave trade would be something I would be intent to beat out of them. There would have to be lots of pressure to have the slave trade curtailed so that demand is crushed along with supply. Anyone who wants to buy slaves can pay the price as well, be it fine, imprisonment, confiscation of their ships, and in more extreme cases (like armed bandits) simply eliminated as well.

Try to actually work with them from a liberal theory standpoint of politics. Try to get a constructivist train of thought going among their civilization. Maintain a fleet in the Traverse as an influence in deterrence against aggression, but focus on fostering a new mode of cooperation between the powers that be.

Blast your reasonable approach. I can't deny that this is probably the best course of action.

If it were up to me, I would skin them all alive, roll them in salt, cauterize them with a blowtorch, then behead them  slowly while they screamed and crapped themselves.

Or I'd let the Reapers take them all and make Cannibals.
