I don't think solos=skill I say the "Best" players are the ones that help with the objectives, revive, don't go down much, and kill a lot of enemies... Oh and if you melee other players to say hello.

Agreed, those are the 4 best players I've met. Saeed used to post a fair bit in Anno's solo hall of drama thread but I've not seen him around much lately.

Saeed posts here quite a bit. Although not much lately, yeah. Judging from a couple of vids I've seen of him, he's an exceptional player.

Yea, I know.  It sounds sounds stupid to me when people go on about great players "who don't post here anymore" or "who've moved on long ago."  

Just using you as an example of a current player near the "skill cap" in this game.  Based on video.

Well, to be entirely honest. I understand your reasonment and I agree with it. People usually tend to overestimate how good things were in the past, that's a general rule. Which surely applies to lots of the guys who used to play and are refered as "the best".

But.

I've played quite a lot with some of the "old guys". As I've played quite a lot with the current "top notch" bsners, d_nought, cricketer, ishy, renegade, alquinn and all the others. And although I agree that the current guys' skills have grown to match, or even exceed, those of some of the old names, I cannot, while trying to be objective, say that they're as good as some others of those old names. Feneckus comes to mind, as well as Sy7ar and Stentron. Just to avoid getting into the matter of Jay.

Nought and the others are great, mind you. Really great. But to be honest and trying to be the most objective I can, if someone asked me "who's better at ME3, Nought or Feneckus?" my answer would be Feneckus without much of a doubt.

As always when talking about who's better than who and bla bla bla... Hope noone takes things personal

At a certain level, it's really just about who gets to something first though because everyone is an efficient killer. Some do somethings better than others but for the most part it's a coins toss between some of the elite players. I never could judge who is the best player on my platform because it's so situational and diverse between maps, kits, weapons, etc. I can tell if someone is great by their performance in game but I couldn't begin to say who is the best.

@deerber.  Alright.  Like I said, for the PC guys I've only seen video and not actually played with anybody.  You're the expert there.   Good response, and I agree that the current and past pc players that you listed have released some impressive footage.  Also, they all have clean records and appear to be legit players(the ones you listed, anyway).

Really hard to say who is the best.

Being the best means be better than everyone in every single aspect of the game.

So i think there is not such thing as "best player".

Then there are the players that we haven't played with, the players that don't post on the forums and the players that we haven't seen how they play because they don't post videos.
