Udina-mance anyone?
>--ME2 POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD, TAKE HEED--<
Anyway, I think he'll screw it up in ME2. In one of the previews I saw, Jacob told Shepard that "despite humanity taking over the council two years ago, nothing really changed". This is WEIRD to say the least, considering HUMAN colonies are disappearing. Why doesn't Udina go "SEND YOUR FLEET IN!"? I wonder what happened to the Udina I once knew...

Council ceases its support for Shepard, it does not order Shepard to stop the pursuit. It is the Udina who jumps to the opportunity and grounds Normandy to show that Alliance does not back up Shepard.
No, the Council ordered Shepard not to go to Ilos, because Ilos lies in the Terminus system. If a Specter goes there, it's basically a declaration of war.
No Shepard states that one ship wouldn't cause a war therefore asks them to send him/her which Council refuses but they don't forbid from taking action. Spectres can do as they see fit.

People just hate interesting characters, and love shallow and uninspired ones. Take Tali for example.

I like Anderson alot. He is brave and brilliant. But I didn't ut him as head of the council because he is a military man. Last thing we need is the military handling the subtelties of politics. Historically speaking, that almost always leads to disaster.

Faceplam. Specter can do what they see fit as long as the Council allows it. The Council clearly didn't. They gave Shepard a direct order not to go to Ilos.

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! *dramatic clenched fist*Plus, Udina has the funniest voice ever. And he's the most quotable person in the entire game.
(I love that signature, I can't remember whose it is

They were no longer in the military at that point.
Plus, the American system is well structured as to not allow disaster from happening (at least in theory).
But to equate it to real life. Putting a military man as representative in the UN or head of the UN, is a bad choice.

Nah most people like all the characters to a certain point, rabid fanboyism of certain ones though goes into the realm of insanity.
Wrex is as shallow a personality can be but that doesn't stop me from laughing at his lines or feeling for his plight with the genophage on Virmire.

I used to pick Anderson over Udina every time i beat Mass Effect, but recently I've flip-flopped, and I truly think humanity is better off with Udina in the seat. He knows how the Council works, and while he isn't the nicest person ever, he definitely knows how to get things done and how to play the game. My Shepard may never be buddies with him, but she most certainly respects him.
I never got the impression that Udina was in it for himself. He's all about humanity's best interests, and if that means Anderson is the one in charge, then he's all for it.
I also love that he'll say no to me. He'll say no and won't fold. We need a human who is willing to do so, because then we know that it's not just alien prejudice. Anderson gave me the impression that I could bully him into things. Udina'd gnaw his own leg off before compromising his ideals.
Also, I'd totally join an Udina group.

"You detonated a nuclear device on Virmire, you call that discreet?"
"Ilos requires a deft touch Commander. We have the situation under control". In otherwords: stay out of it.
"Ambassador Udina, I get the feeling that Shepard is not goign to let this go". In other words, do somethign about it Udina.
If you don't actually see how the Council is forbidden you to go to Ilos and telling Udina to take action against you, then I don't know what to say.

Udina is a dick. Though he is a very succesful at being a dick, his
dickyness very nearly got everyone in the galaxy killed. Fortunatlly he
failed in his attempt to foil Shepard just as he failed to block
Andersons fist from hitting his face.
Udina is a typical sellout politicaian who
would gladly screwover the entire human race if it benifited him
somehow. I dont see how anyone could justify chosing him over Anderson.
Thought I would try your qoute changing on for size Death. Like this version better.
