Hello,
this is my first post here and I want to greet everyone warmly. I see that this community gathers a lot of creative and interesting people and seeing a fan fiction forum alive puts me in a good mood.
Maybe this will be bold, as I am a stranger, but as many of you, I am also amazed by vivid fantasy world of Dragon Age, with it's wonderful adventures, characters and lore. Here in Poland there's a small group of gamers, who enjoy playing web browser games, based on story-telling, but with a technical backbone, as one may say. These games are made on an Open-Source PHP engine, which is really a framework. If you don't know what browser RPGs are, imagine a MMORPG without graphics or more sophisticated, up-to-date MUD.
My friends and I would like to make a game in Dragon Age world. We are few, but hopefully enough to cope with the task (I have experience in the subject, developed one of these games from scratch and maintained it for 5 years). But before we will start our long journey, as we deeply respect work - we want to ask for Bioware and EA permission.
I see such doings as ours not as an alternative for players, but complementary and supportive to Bioware products, which we highly esteem. Therefore I ask anyone willing and capable to grant us such permission to do so and instruct, how to use Dragon Age assets.
OK, that was stiff... Sorry about that. But the truth is that we want to make something like this, it will take a lot of work, about 3 months at least to get it up and running. It will be storytelling rpg with mechanics to keep you busy while you are waiting for other players' responses. We don't want to be treated like we stole the rights to make loads of money on ads or whatever. It will be free and no-one will earn nothing from this, it will always be a fan project. Can we use the names, lore and other stuff?
Can we make a non-profit Dragon Age storytelling browser rpg? (in Polish)
