Am I the only one who will be playing as a vanguard?

My female Shepard was an adept. However, if it looks like the class won't have any new special feature except Singularity, I might as well switch to Vanguard (or even Sentinel).

My first FemShep was a vanguard because I was nervous about playing what amounts to a pure caster in a game I thought would be super heavily combat-based. But I ended up hardly using the soldier talents, so after that game I've just stuck with pure biotic.

I don't know yet. At first I was leaning towards vanguard, but adept looks alot of fun as well. I may have to flip a coin when the time comes.

Adept through and through! My second playthrough will be with a vanguard, but I doubt I'll like it more than adept.
Most likely will be picking bastion as my specialization -I find increased power duration more halpful than increased damage. The cooldown bonus was the same for both nemesis and bastion, iirc.

I used to always be Vanguard but recently I choose:
Adept-Shotgun(bonus talent)-Nemesis.
You can't beat it. Since I like Vanguard's shotgun but Adept biotics better this is the perfect way to combine the two!!!

I haven't looked at the list of powers for ME2 Adept/Vanguard, so I can't really say.
But I'd imagine the pro of an adept is having more biotic abilities and the con is that you'll die easily.
Maybe the vanguard can use more weapons? I don't know *shrugs*

Well. Adept is the full-fledged biotic. It has more crowd control power than the vanguard, and some possible damage combinations that aren't available for the vg. Whereas the Vanguard does more weapon damage and is more sturdy.
Biotic combinations not available to vanguard: Singularity + warp, Singularity + Shockwave, Pull + throw, Pull + warp and the massive Singularity + Warp + Shockwave.
But adept will not be able to have cryo or incendiary ammo, both of which provide passive damage boosts vs. enemy type or a proc to freeze.
It all comes down to what type of a player you are. Do you like manipulating the enemies while throwing them to their doom and only using your weapons when it's necessary? Or do you like to take it close and personal with them and give them a good old shotgun to the face?

The pistols with marksman up did most dps of all weapons in ME1.
Charge is a very situational ability, you'll be killing yourself as much as the enemy with it.
Also, adept have Sub-Machine guns in ME2, and possibility to train Assault Rifles (not 100% confirmed, although Christina Norman did say other classes have the pooprtunity to train AR)

Vanguards have sub machine guns too. Vanguards can freeze a bunch of enemies and shatter them all with area charge

Yes they do. Vanguards can use the same weapons an Adept can with the addtion of the shotgun.
If you like the thrill of up close combat and using shotguns, go Vanguard.
If you like to have more battlefield control by having access to more powers and combos, go Adept.

Vanguard all the way.
I love a good up-close-and-personal tactical class that can lay on the pain with biotics and weaponry. ^^
