im doing a new femshep playthrough but i dont really like me1 combat and item encumberments. can everyone survive the suicide mission if i use genesis?

I don't see why not. All the requirements to survive come from Loyality missions and upgrades.

You could even surive it without importing from Mass Effect 1, just upgrade your ship and help the squad in Me2
