I wouldn't take him to the movies. He does come off as a bit loud.

Dammit Jimmy, what did I tell you about posting pictures of my ex boyfriends?

I'm sorry :( But he is such a looker!

If they are going to ignore the comments about physical appearance of female characters then they should also ignore this one about male character too. Equality and all. :P

Well you yourself was complaining in the other thread about people discussing the physical traits that fans find attractive for female characters in the trailers, what they would like changed or improved and to which David said he would ignore any such comments about peoples preferences for physicial attractiveness of the characters there, I would consider it hypocritical to pretend the same thing is not happening here.

Not really a valid comparison, though.
No one is picking apart an established character. We are simply describing what we would like to see.

Question. Not to rag on about your taste in men and such, but why do girls like those type of guys? What about an emotionally distant guy do girls find appealing? Is it that girls want to be the ones that pierce their rough exterior and bring out their sensitive side? That is one theory I've heard but is it true? Or is there another reason?

It is no different. A girl or guy says I want a hot, tall, athletic sexy female companion or I want this current or past companion altered to meet with my preference for attractiveness vs a girl or a guy saying I want a hot, tall, athletic sexy male one who meets with my preference of attractiveness.

Anyways I made my point, I will leave you to it.

I didn't say I wanted an emotionally distant companion. (In fact - yuck, no thanks.) I want a companion (male) with a tall/dark/edgy look to them, but they carry a fun/witty personality.

I did say a male-type Morrigan (if that's where you got that from), and yeah I guess she was kind of emotionally distant. But I was thinking more along the lines of her edgy looks and her witty snark.

In other words:A Qunari.

The dark part in tall dark and handsome typically referrs to dark hair.Qunari all have white hair.Edit: By Qunari, I'm sure you meant kossith.

I never liked that word:It sounds like food.

Which? Kossith? Qunari? Qunari reminds me of quinoa. haha

Kossith: It sounds like some kind of salad.

My god.

Stating your likes and preferences is perfectly fine, (so long as nothing demeaning or disrespectful is being said).
The issue being referred to in the Morrigan thread was the hypercritical picking apart of (female) characters and how more likely it is to occur than with male characters.
As I said, no one is picking apart characters here.

Lol exactly. I don't understand this myth of Cumberbatch being considered attractive. Good actor but certainly not conventionally attractive, which is what the 'tall, dark and handsome' phrase means.

Personally I'm hoping for at least one human male LI who's a MoC. I'm sick of generic blond dudes. (why I'm fervently hoping Cullen is NOT a companion)

I find his voice to be quite attractive. It doesn't really matter to me what hair color or ethnicity the LI is, asking as his voice is sexy.

That's fine, but keep in mind it (representation in media) does mean a great deal to a lot of other people.

Obviously.

Oh lordy, Nathaniel Howe.

I keep telling myself it's never going to happen. But yeah, I'd prefer Nathaniel Howe over almost anyone else I could think of. Anyone who's already been introduced, of course. I can't very well say that I'd prefer him to any character, ever.

Nathaniel Howe. Every time he called Velanna "my lady" my Warden was thinking: "Why don't you ever call  me that?" Nice, dry sense of humor, not too much angst, and that *voice*. <3

This is a sure sign that the devs need to bring him back. Since he was just an Awakening companion, wouldn't it be awesome to experience a full game with him? (They did this with Anders - he was just an Awakening companion and then they brought him on as a full companion for DA2. So... why not?) Alternatively, I wouldn't mind all new companions, as long as one of them fit the description of - well - the personality/physical traits I've described in this thread. (Chris Cornell... Chris Cornell Bioware. Just animate him and get a sexy voice in there. Hell... get Chris Cornell in there, I don't care. He can sing, damn it.)

Now, this brings me to a question:

When would they be designing companions? They've been working on the game for two years now. They said the game will be released in 2014, so they have a little over 12 more months. Do you (does anyone else?) think decisions on companion types/designs/etc. are final now? Point of no return? Can't add more to the party? Just curious. I don't know what it's like on the dev end of things...

HOWE. I FEEL I WAS SUMMONED.

Yes, I want him, too. He's so very, very crushable. Tough, independent, yet there for you. And witty, easy on the eyes, and with a wry, self-deprecating sense of humor. Grabby hands!

I agree. I was always bummed that I couldn't actually romance him in Awakening. Hm... how old would Howe be in the next installment though? And since he was made a warden... would he still be alive?

Well, he might be. I do like to think he and my Orlesian have some form of understanding. But if that headcanon gets trampled for additional Nate in DA3... I'm strangely ok with that.

Very, very ok.

Hm lots of Cumberbatch hate on this thread. I think he's handsome. I also love his ****ing voice. And another poster from earlier was right - he's even better looking in Star Trek.

I like his unconventional looks. He's very tall. He's well built. Deep honey voice. Brilliant actor, yes. He has f*cking charisma... and he's definitely on my... eh... "list" ha.

Also I love his hair and jawline. And that neck.

Don't worry, I like him too.  I have a weakness for men with sexy voices.

:D

I will admit that some people are put off by his looks, but I don't understand why. I think he's gorgeous. I mean, if someone can be attracted to a Qunari or a dwarf (not saying that they are ugly - I am saying they are unconventional... eh... especially the one with horns, lol) then I don't see how being attracted to a very attractive actor is all that obscure. hehe. That's ok though. He does have a lot of fan girls/guys. <3

Medium height, brunette or blond, rugged manly looks. Or short.
That would Varric though.

Why it is allways tall, dark and Fabio?

Don't you people have imagination?
