I know in theory that it's possible for a Human Noble to become King and keep Alistair as a Warden if you just have Anora agree to marry you, then have Alistair kill Loghain. This would be my ideal outcome, except for the fact that I hear it is heavily bugged. Does this bug still occur, or has it been patched? I'm on the PS3 if it matters.

I didn't encounter that bug. On the other hand I'm on the PC, and yes, system matters with regards to certain bugs.

I don't know about the PS3. I know it still happens on the 360 side. PC never had that bug.

Anyone willing to check to see if this bug occurs on PS3? Apparently Alistair will always think he's king after the landsmeet, even if he's not, and the game is impossible to complete.

There's lines implying Alistair is the king even if he's not on the PC. That one, I think, is universal.

I play on PS3 and Alistair still thinks he's king when arranging the Dark Ritual with Morrigan as a female Warden (he talks about people looking at him as their king and worries about creating a bastard heir) and gives a big "This is my duty as king" speech if you go for the Ultimate Sacrifice instead.  With Anora as the sole ruler, Alistair does finally remember he's just a Warden during the epilogue coronation and the epilogue slides.

I haven't actually tried making a human noble as king though with Anora, so I can't answer for that.

Good, thinking of doing this instead. So if I make Anora sole ruler, and keep Alistair as a Warden, he doesn't think he's King in the epilogue? What about Awakening, is there a bug where he shows up as King there, or does Anora show up?

During the coronation Alistair will talk about rebuilding the Wardens (or following a romanced Warden which is also correctly mentioned in the slides). The slides for Alistair after the Warden makes the Ultimate Sacrifice are correct as well.

And yes, Anora will make an appearance as Queen in the beginning of Awakening.

That bug while discussing the dark ritual is not caused by faulty flags -- it's caused by there being no non-King-Alistair dialog there. There's another place where that happens as well.

However, with those, the actual flags are fine (unless you've encountered another bug that is) so epilogues and such should work as intended.
