Interesting romance question...

This is more out of curiousity than me actually wanting to do it...but my question it this: Say in ME1 you decide to be pure and choose to romance no one. In ME2 will you be able to start a relationship with the LI's from ME1, Ashley/Kaidan, or Liara? That is if you choose to avoid the ME2 LI's for some reason. I kinda doubt it being as ME2=new love interests, but yet I dont see it being entirely out of the question.
I dont really know why anyone would do this but I think a may try it and see how the relationship comes about and see if it affects the story at all. Maybe you fudged up your conversation with them and never got a chance to romance them like you wanted.
Something along the lines of:
Ashely: Commander, I feel we didn't get to know each other well enough during our first meet.
Shepard: Really? I felt the same way...
...Thus beginning the romance. What are you guys/girls thoughts/opinions?

I am also curious, pertaining to thi.s. I have my final renegade playthrough, where I accidently roimanced Liara, but delclined the sex before illos. SO hopefully I can initiate a romance with her in ME2.

My renegade playthrough was basically Shep looking at people when they talked and then pointing a gun in the face and screaming at them, sometimes with threats but most of the time in angry gibberish about some stupid 'reapers' or other nonsense. Needless to say, I was able to avoid any romantic entanglements.

hmmm maybe. Or if not now there is always room in ME3. After all we know LI will be only be some what limited in ME2. Maybe you just develop your relationship/friendship further.

I think this question is one of those which will only be answered after playing it through.

I just don't think you'll be able to start a new romance with a LI from ME1 b/c they are supposedly only in ME2 for a short amount of time.

I'm also very curious about this. More to the point, I finished Mass Effect three times on one character file. But my romance options were alternated. Liara on playthrough one, Ashley on the second, and then Liara again on number three...

I'd like to know if I'll be able to choose to import the character from Playthrough two, who romanced Ashley, or if I'll only have the option on importing the last one, which completed the Liara romance.
