I would like the reapers to have a role, funnily enough the reaper war had very little to do with them.

QFT.

Harbinger is my obvious number one choice - I was essentially sold on ME3 by it being the continuation of an epic story, unfortunately those incredible conflicts set up by the ending of ME2 and the entire Arrival DLC were never explored or given any form of resolution.  Harbinger had a legit interest in and grudge against Shepard.  It should have been Harbinger hounding Shepard and the Normandy at every turn, not Kai Sodding Leng.

Then I'd have to consider some of the previous games supporting cast.  Shiala and Gianna Parsini are characters who had decent opportunities for story progression but who never received any form of ME3 payoff.  For former squad mates, Zaeed would have been top of my list.

I understand Bioware's talk of "making ME3 accessible to new players" by including all-new allies and enemies such as James Vega and Kai Sodding Leng.  But at the same time, ME3 was not only part of a trilogy, but apparently the concluding part of that trilogy.  Too many plots and characters were left out or ignored for my liking.

Udina, I guess. Even though I hate him to the guts, i wished his role was bigger so we could finish him off in a better way... :))

I can't limit myself to just 1.

1. Jack- I have a huge girl crush on her. Love her character development in 2 and 3 and would have loved to spend more time with her even if Shepard was friendzoned. I just absolutely adore her and the appeal of someone coming back from what she has endured and coming out as stable and GOOD as she did appeals to my internal optimist.

2. Harbinger- There is a huge whole in this game where Harbinger was needed. He should have been taunting me throughout the game as he did in ME2. I should have had an epic boss fight where I killed him and my team desecrated his reaper corpse. His absence was sorely missed in this game.

3. The VS- They were woefully short on dialogue and interactions. Bioware pulled them out of ME2 so we should have gotten a double dose of VS dialogue and interactions in ME3 to make up for it. I would have loved a jerry springer style scene on the Normandy in front of everyone complete with hand to hand combat working our way toward the airlock before collapsing at a standstill with bruised swollen eyes bloody lips both of us on the deck grunting and slapping each other calling each other names but ending with a smile our issues worked out. We have so much history between us and the stress of the reaper war it would have been epic. Nothing says I love you like a knockdown drag out fight and intersperse it with dialogue that shows the hurt on both sides and its pure win.

4. Miranda- In ME2 she was my 2nd in command, she was also a defector from cerberus and I spend most of ME3 fighting cerberus. She should have been at my side the whole time. It makes no sense that she is not there with such a cerberus-centric plot.

^This, too. I'm all for the VS. This would've been great. Just hope Shep and VS don't batter each other so badly. :D

I thought Miranda would play a larger part but I guess we were fortunate to get as much as we did.

Shiala also should of had more than just an email

You do get to run into her during the Citadel DLC, and have the option for an extended chat.

You're thinking of Sha'ira.

Shiala doesn't have any presence in ME3 outside an email.

Miranda by far. Considering her past with Cerberus, and Cerberus's overwhelming importance in ME3's events, she should have played a much bigger role.

I think someone counted and Miranda actually has more lines than Mordin. She needed a different role, focused on Cerberus. She was 2IC; she needs to care one way or the other. We needed Miranda the avenging angel, not someone we patted on the head for loving her sister.

Miranda, but only If her plotline was more focused on Cerberus and the war effort. If it was still focused on finding Orianna...no thanks.

This right here. She would have been an ideal squadmate for the Cerberus HQ later on, but this Orianna focus from the start was annoying to say the least. And her Father again? Retconned from a wealthy industrialist into a mad scientist to boot? She should have been a squadmate from the very first meeting on the Citadel, and to make it interesting, if you bring her back have a HUGE negative modifyer to the VS reaction to Shepard. Make it so you would have had to do everything nice to them, including all three hospital visits + gift and have the Salarian council survive to avoid having to shoot them.

Hmm ...

Ashley (more interaction with the crew, more influence on the plot - same for Kaidan)
Miranda (bigger plot & squadmate, epic fights with Ash if both are LIs of Shepard)
Grunt (as a squadmate - Wrex is leading the Krogans already)
Jack (I started to like her!)
Thane (cure plot)
Anderson (more feedback on situation on Earth)
Balak (c'mon, that guy has potential)
TIM (a -real- role, not just being a badguy)
Kai Leng (same like for TIM - make that guy INTERESTING)

That.

Yeah I have to agree about Miranda. The most annoying thing is that her search for her sister eventually did hint at something bigger involving Cerberus, but then she insists that she should do it alone, despite knowing full well that you're fighting Cerberus? I wish Shepard had the option to call her out on this and force her to accept Shepard's assistance.

Miranda. I wish there was more involvement with the Cerberus arc with her. Everyone else has already pretty much hit the nail on the head for Miranda already, so there's not much for me to add, oddly enough. Strange considering I'm one of her biggest white knights on here. And like it or not, she was arguably the most plot important squadmate in ME2.

I do believe that there should have been some kind of LI confrontration between Miranda and Ashley. It make it even more fun to troll Ashley.

I wish that Cerberus was just portrayed as muahaha indoctrinated and evil. People here know I'm one of the bigger advocates and sympathizers for Cerberus.

Also, the Reapers. They seemed to be something that was rather seen rarely in a game that was all about them.

To a degree, I do believe they should have had more of a face to fight with Harbinger. I also believe they should have kept the unique Reaper designs as shown in ME2.

Has David been here to **** about how everyone is wrong yet?

I honestly doubt Drew would have done any better.

I don't get the love for him. He's proven to be just as bad as SuperMac and CHud at some things.

Imported LI (insert your waifu) should've had a bigger role or at as a member of the Normandy team. This would've been a special bonus slot for returning ME players who import a save. I'm certain at least half the fans would've wanted their LI from the previous game in the crew roster.

People love to delude themselves. Drew came up with the dark energy theme, which would have made the whole third game darker (by the ending they planned for that scenario). Also the whole logic behind that issue would raise a lot more questions: fighting against dark energy by turning each organic civilization into space cyborgs which use dark energy... and by creating huge dark energy relays in order to prevent civilizations to use dark energy by encouraging them to use it... eeerrr... no wonder they scrapped that idea.

Also it was Drew who wrote the whole trilogy into a corner by ME1's reaper lore: their numbers are great, they outmach the whole galacitc community in technological advancement, knowledge, experience, firepower etc. etc.. Also they hold the whole galaxy in their hands: the relay system is theirs and the Citadel also... they could take it in a whim decapitating the galactic community and shut down the relays, isolating each system from the other, paralysing the whole galaxy: instant victory (Shep would strand in one of the systems). And the ending of ME1 promised that these creatures would come, no matter what, so there was no way to backtrack the plot of the sequels from the imminent reaper invasion. The guys (Mac and co.) who inherited the helm from him had to retcon a few things in order to make the whole trilogy work: the whole idea of the Crucible, making the reapers not to take the Citadel without any explaination. These things caused a few problems in the writing of ME3. This is all due to the heritage of Drew.

It's easy to say that Drew is such a genious out of nostalgie, but he's not better than the rest of the guys, if you think about his writing in ME1 and ME2 for more than a minute. Also ME1 has its own share of logical flaws and derps (I'm talking about the main plot).

So people may hate Mac for what he has done with ME3, but if it was Drew who took the helm, now everybody would hate him instead of Mac, I'd stake my life on it.
