Ok, I get it, but I still don't see why would we need more romantic stuff in a story which is not primarily about romances. Plust the Citadel dlc gave fans an opportunity to play around with the LI sublplots a bit more.

The only thing that irks me is the way some treat the potential LIs here...

Casino Royale (the reboot) wasn't about romance, yet Vesper's relationship with Bond is one of the largest plot points in that movie, and is ultimately the deciding factor for his continuing to work in MI6 into Quantum of Solace.

Liara, tbh.

She was given way too much space in ME3, to be honest. A lot of her scenes could have been used with LI's instead.

re: Romance

I'm not against more of a focus on romance but I think a lot of potential fans would be turned off ALTHOUGH, given how much romance drives the setting of Game of Thrones, it could work

(seriously, if couple counselling was introduced into Westeros, I'd swear half the problems of that setting would disappear)

Wrex and/or Grunt. Krogans are by far my favourite race of whole universe, I love their badass attitude :)

Oh and yes, Kasumi. Very interesting, well crafted character with tons of unused potential. Would be great to have her as full companion in ME3.

Actually I think that Kasumi is a perfect example of character which doesn't have to be bangable to be interesting for players. Shes so easy to sympathize with her.

Kasumi's little cameo was too short, and not good enough to be honest. More Kasumi pls... :)

Eh, Kasumi was left fairly empty as a character from the very beginning. There were some moments, particularly the scene with the graybox, but she and Zaeed both never got an actual conversation scene on the Normandy. You just check out their little hangouts on the ship and explore the objects while they explain them to you.

Zaeed has a lot of character, even without him saying anything. What you see is what you get with him.

I like Joker's comment on him in ME2. "Zaeed is just like you. Except he takes checks." lol

Hence she should have gotten more of a role/screentime so we could chat more...

Originally both Zaeed and Kasumi had dialogue conversations like the rest of the squad but it got cut

Mostly Ashley , also all the male love interests from Mass Effect 2 , including Kelly, Kasumi, and also Gianna Parasini.

Well, I don't know too much about Bond, since I never liked and cared for that franchise, but as far as I know, being the charming womaniser was always a huge part of Bond's character (note all those famous "Bond-girls". So it's not a surprise that it plays a bigger role in the Bond saga. While in ME it is just an optional sub-plot which aims to give the game a bigger level of personalisation and variety, but you can skip the thing without losing or missing anything as far as the story and the lore goes. It is not a major part of the story, yet many treat it as if it was. It's ok, but I think it played its part fine. There's no need to give more weight to it than it already has.

Plus, as I said, it has always kind of spooked me out, that many of the fans treat their virtual-dolls as if they were real. They had to shut down the romance-threads because people had a virtual war over there over the optional LIs of the game. There was a frightening level of obsession with Liara and the blue children, Tali and her face, Miranda, Garrus and Thane etc. I mean come on... what is this? A new kind of fetish? Many of the ending haters hated the ending because they could not see their Shepards together with their LIs. Is it so damn important?

I can't limit myself to just 1.

1. Jack- I have a huge girl crush on her. Love her character development in 2 and 3 and would have loved to spend more time with her even if Shepard was friendzoned. I just absolutely adore her and the appeal of someone coming back from what she has endured and coming out as stable and GOOD as she did appeals to my internal optimist.

2. Harbinger- There is a huge whole in this game where Harbinger was needed. He should have been taunting me throughout the game as he did in ME2. I should have had an epic boss fight where I killed him and my team desecrated his reaper corpse. His absence was sorely missed in this game.

3. The VS- They were woefully short on dialogue and interactions. Bioware pulled them out of ME2 so we should have gotten a double dose of VS dialogue and interactions in ME3 to make up for it. I would have loved a jerry springer style scene on the Normandy in front of everyone complete with hand to hand combat working our way toward the airlock before collapsing at a standstill with bruised swollen eyes bloody lips both of us on the deck grunting and slapping each other calling each other names but ending with a smile our issues worked out. We have so much history between us and the stress of the reaper war it would have been epic. Nothing says I love you like a knockdown drag out fight and intersperse it with dialogue that shows the hurt on both sides and its pure win.

4. Miranda- In ME2 she was my 2nd in command, she was also a defector from cerberus and I spend most of ME3 fighting cerberus. She should have been at my side the whole time. It makes no sense that she is not there with such a cerberus-centric plot.

Nicely put.

Jack is ok.  She shined in ME2.  In ME3, she just wasn't there much at all.   Same with any of the LI.  The whole team from ME2 deserved to be with Shep in the fight against the Reapers.  If it was to be the end of life as we know it, I want Wrex AND Grunt on my Team dangnabbit!  I wanted battles with the whole team involved, not some 3 man fireteam BS from games of ages past.  Bioware could have stepped it up - instead....

Harby was a PITA and deserved to be put down like a rabid velociraptor.  Use extreme caution and terminate with prejudice.  Bioware missed the mark on that - because Harby more than earned a whoopin in ME2.

My VS was ALWAYS Ashley.  Someytimes as LI, sometimes not, but it was always her.  Kaidan did his duty like any man should.  After the feelings of betrayal on Horizon I wanted recompensation for all of my effort and dedication to her.   Seeing her hurt on Mars was intense - and some very good writing.  For that scene alone we can skip the fight in my mind.

Miranda should have been with Shep the whole time - at least for defecting from Cerberus.  The Illusive Man was in the perfect place here - he basically had Miri's sister as a prisoner.  TIM employed the family, knew where Orianna was - he just held too many of the chips to be crossed and not expect retribution.  I would expect that the Alliance would welcome her, given all she knew of Cerberus and Project Lazarus.

All in all, I guess I wished the whole team from ME2 was around.   To me, the game is more than just mechanics.  I wanted my team - just like when ME2 started and Shep was talking to Jacob about where they all were.  He agains asks TIM where each and every person is.  Bioware missed a critical mark of where the greatness in their games comes from.  Its not the aliens or the eye candy or the fight mechanics - its in the interractions with the characters that we all know and love (minus the ones we spaced, of course).  I guess its the whole ball of wax all rolled into one - because if even one element is missing, the game just doesn't have the magic.

As someone who loves the romance content in BW games, there is definitely enough of it in ME3 as it stands.

Too bad poor Kelly Chambers gets the short end of the stick. Honestly, I wish there was more to this character in ME3. She just stands around in the docks the entire game, only to probably die when the Citadel is taken by the reapers.

Kelly's content isn't far off from her relevance, in my opinion. Obviously people who like her will want more, but they have to draw lines somewhere.

I said the Council, forgot the mention the Reapers. Not Harbinger personally, because he does nothing for me, to tell you the truth. But yeah, they finally arrive, and then sink into the background so Cerberus and the Alliance can be the stars.

I get that they are 'beyond' us, so we probably shouldn't get the same level of interaction with them as TIM. But it could have been more interesting if they did more than just blow stuff up in the far distance.

Morinth. She may have been one of the most one-dimensional characters in the series but I still would have preferred her over most of the ME3 squadmates. So disappointed that she didn't even show up on Lesuss.

Fair enough, then I change my answer to LI, tbh. Which by proxy is Liara, tbh.

Win-win.
