I prefer Infiltrator to Engineer. Most of the good points of engineering, more weaponry options, and can stay standing for longer.

Engineer. Only thing I miss on engineers is another weapon. That's why I choose those as extra talents. Engineer + sniper rifle (or assault rifle) was great, i hope there is some equivalent in ME2. If not, engineer is still my favorite class.
Sentinel seems fun, too. I'm playing it right now, but with the assault rifle as well. Combines some neat things, throw/lift + tech talents + assault rifles. So maybe I'll give more importance to sentinels in ME2 than I did in ME1.

I love the pure classes for ME2. So just as I like the Adept over the Vanguard, I like the Engineer over the Infiltrator.

The only class I don't have an import for ME2 is Infiltrator. I think I'll save that for when ME3 is about to come out and then go through ME1 and 2 as one.
