This topic is actually broached in
the novel Asunder, wherein a Tranquil mage is able to coax a demon into
possessing him. When he's freed of the demon, he's not Tranquil
anymore.
But reversing Tranquility doesn't require possession; you just need prolonged contact with a spirit.
Obviously,
Tranquils aren't immune to demonic possession, but the process makes
them unsuitable as hosts. Trying to possess a Tranquil, to a demon, is
like to trying to possess a piece of furniture, except the furniture has
a mind and can resist your efforts.
But demons are not good for the job as you said but what about spirits? If they cared enough they could cure every single tranquil.

So here is the thing. Anders is practically an "abomination" but he is much more sane than a demonic abomination and also prettier since he doesn't change into a forsaken ug-ly being, sometimes his eyes and body glow and that's all. Also unlike demonic abominations he doesn't want to rule the world he wants to free mages no matter the cost which is something much more noble. Anyway What I am I asking is this. In the scene where we first see Anders getting furious and calling Justice in the chantry when fighting the templars, after the fight Karl is briefly cured of tranquility. Karl says he feels like the fade itself is burning inside Anders like a sun.
So this rises the question if Anders is immune to tranquility since tranquils are cut off from the fade but Anders has an essence of the fade inside him and cured a tranquil its range when he used his powers and he cant be "unpossessd" either. I know he can be killed but according to this he is immune to tranquility. Also what happens if a spirit is made to posses a tranquil? would it cure the tranquility permanently? One more thing Anders is has a spirit of Justice inside but Wynne had a spirit of protection and her spirit was much more passive than Justice.
It may only be a matter of time. Justice is a demon now.
Also, I think demons are repulsed by tranquils, and would never/cannot possess them.
I wouldn't call Justice a demon, more like a roge spirit. In the fade he disapporoves and even attacks you if you decide to help torpor posses Feynriel he says he wont let an innocent get sacrified for a demon's ambition. All abominatuons we saw so far want to have more power by tempting people or want to rule thedas and overall are evil. Justice wants all mages freed no matter the cost and consequence, its not a very good idea but its not as evil as demonic ones.
Also as I said spirits could do what demons can't.
