I love Ashley.
You don't. The thread title says you don't.
Personally, I find her character boring. Just like Kaiden. Jenkins was more interesting, and we only knew him for 5 minutes.

Ashley is very interesting because of her background, of the woman that she is. The tough soldier with the hard exterior and the big heart once she lets you in.
Whoever wrote her story in ME2 did a horrible job though.

A lot of people who hate her do this out of ignorance mostly. They see one or several remarks, blow it out of proportion or don't understand it and that's it.

Chris L'Etoile wrote her in ME2. The same guy who wrote her in ME1...
I don't think I'm ignorant when I say all the negative remarks towards Ashley. I mean them. I hate Ashley's guts and want to see her suffer.
That said, I guess you're right when it comes to interesting. I think she has some good potential as a person who comes and causes drama for Shepard later in the story, even becoming an antagonist that must be dealt with.
It's why I tell Ashley fans that they won't like my fic. I'm really unkind to Ashley, and I do try to keep her as in character as possible.

To be fair though, the SR1 wasn't a turian or krogan ship, so they weren't exactly in the same position as Ashley.
The Normandy was co-developed by the turians soon wih the Alliance. Turian design influence is very clearly seen in the architecture of he ship's interiors (the CO overlooks the crew from the galaxy map instead of being on the bridge).

Co-developed, but still an Alliance ship with Alliance tech. The Tantalus drive, for example, is purely an Alliance development (until Cerberus nabbed it, the STG "acquired" it and the quarians mysteriously developed strikingly similar technology since Tali got back...)

As soon as I remembered where I heard the name "Ashley Williams" all I could do was scream out loud and continuously picture Bruce Campbell's head on to of Ashley's body with a chainsaw arm and an angry glare...................I don't regret going with Miranda instead

I went with Tali, but due to her name I allowed Ash to live. For now.

THen how did the turians get it? Like I said, the Tantalus is a human prototype engine.

What's the problem with the Quarians having our tech? Knowledge should be shared among allies.
First: Allies don't always stay allies, just as enemies don't always stay enemies. You have to be very careful to whom you share tech with, and in how much you share.
Second: This tech was not shared to begin with.

. The Tantalus Drive core is just a very powerful and compact druve core. It powers the stealth systems, it isnt the stealt system itself. The actual stealth technology was provably developed in conjunction with the Turians.iakus wrote...

Where is it said that the Alliance developed the Tantalus core? Did Adams say something about it in ME1?
Also, even if the Normandy is primarily Alliance, there's still turian technology in it, and is designed with turian philosophy in mind. It's not just an Alliance ship (Cerberus also had a part in developing the SR-1).
