So would you like to have your Character be able to jump in the game?

So if I jump, does my whole party jump as well? ;-)

I've thought about what jumping would be like in a Dragon Age game, but I don't think it makes much sense. I rather be able to dodge than to jump.

I am not sure it would make sense to, unless they are planning on adding platforming elements to the game.

Unless there's a reason for jumping, I don't see why we need to do it.

Actually, if there's a reason for jumping, I want it even LESS. This is an RPG about tactics and decision-making: There should be no "twitch" gaming, like jumping puzzles, dodging, or anything like that. The only button that I should need to hit quickly is "pause", to issue orders to my party.

Well if they are going to continue turning Dragon Age into a action game with RPG elements, I'd like to be able to roll.

I felt it to be natural. Maybe you are right that it would have no sence but being glued to thr floor just seems odd. Also with the new engine BioWare could use jumping fore a few things I'm sure. Also

I love jumping in games, I like doing it in battles to ^^
If Bioware added a jump function in da3 I would be one happy bunny and promise to leave my hexes to a minimon while in game...

I would like my party of hardened warriors, mages, and rogues to have the fundamental ability of being able to get over the occasional tipped over bookshelf or pile of refuse we encounter during our adventures.

This.  It's kinda weird that you can't jump, but there's no reason to unless it's part of the gameplay.

I would like better dodge mechanics as they have in ME and ME multiplayer. Dodges, rolls, leaps to used in combat. They also has some degree of jumping across things in me.

I'm gonna say no to jumping for platforming purposes or similar. However, it would be nice if our characters could move over waist-high fences and walls. Or jump down short heights. It's always silly when you can't do that in games.

Well I want to jump too...
I've played wow for years and I kept the urge to press space bar to jump around like an idiot.

In DA , It pauses my game.I always feel a tiny bit of frustration when it happens.

Jumping , rolling , running is fun ....It doesn't mean we can't play in a strategic manner.
The problem is Followers ...they probably would get stuck a lot .
And jumping on rocks to explore is also nice .

I don't like the click to climb/jump like in Witcher2 or ME3 , where you can do special animations in special spots .
It was really annoying in Witcher 2 , less in ME3 .

In full plate armor?

Are you kiddin'?

(Not that I will ever wear full plate, but still, not easy to jump holding gigantic bows or those loooong staves either. Nor mentioning that if we get stuck with robes for mages - Maker forbid - we run the risk to trip ourselves, fall flat on our face, and ruin the Inquisitor's dignity)

I'd like to be able to step over small obstacles, though.

I'd rather have levels with reasonable obstacles, rather then the typical fence our Darkspawn slaying badass can't vault over.

Only purpose for jumping would being to jump over or off things so what would they put in place for you to jump over... Climbing I imagine would come with same issues too such as you can climb over or down something yet not other things would probably make it grating from an immersion perspective even more than being glued to the floor. For example I could imagine people trying to climb every single thing around them to see if can get up it (I know I would be one of them) and having some can and some can't would be annoying. Like in Warcraft getting on top of the enterance to Stormwind or in Ironforge there was a sweet spot which allowed you to climb to top of the enterance zone inside the city above auction house, I don't know many people who did not try to get on top of places just so they could jump off or show off via screenshots of where they got too. I am not saying jumping and climbing would be a bad thing overall but I can't imagine them implementing such features without causing many problems. However having such like a single book or pebble is on the floor yet you have to walk around it is annoying too, but there are other ways to resolve such problems.

If I don't jump like Damien Walters, then I shall not jump.
