So would you like to have your Character be able to jump in the game?

What would be the point?

With Jumping comes falling and leaping. Being able to propel opponents off of bridges and ledges allows for a wider range of tactical possibilities. And for exploration, being able to cross small crevices, streams, etc adds to the experience; not just going over the same routes repeatedly.

You can actually still have falling without an explicit jump mechanic.

True; the scene in gameplay where the small wooden bridge is demolished indicates this. But like in SWTOR, it is also quite nice and effective to be able to leap and jump from such locations without such destruction being required.

Being able to ascend or descend to varied other locations makes for some great tactical options. In TOR, I found a few locations that were accessible from above that made for rather nice tactical raids. For me, such game mechanics were a huge plus in exploration freedom. And while I am not a fan of the whole Datacron Olympics thing, a great deal of the entire sidequest is made possible because of it.

For sure.  There are benefits for doing so, and costs as well.  I know this is rather vague, but yeah at this point it's best to neither confirm nor deny, since I am not sure how it all shakes down by the time release strolls along :P
