How well do ME2 facecodes transfer to ME3 now?

I remember playing through ME1, using a new facecode in ME2, and getting very different or disasterously ugly Shepard when ported to ME3 and I know most people have as well. I'm just trying to find a good Femshep code that transfers well. I'm on XBox, so I can't do mods.

...not well.
The vertexes have all been changed. No matter what, your Shepard won't be exact.

not very well at all, although male sheps don't have as bad problems as the female imports.

I prefer how my Shep looks like in ME1 and 2. The eyes just look so much different in ME3, they look like lifeless glass balls without any depth. There are differences all over the place and it's impossible to get the colours right without touching save game manually.

My shepard started in ME1 using a build that wouldn't change in ME2, and when I imported her into ME3 all I had to change was eyebrow color as I recall. She actually got prettier. No complaints here. Now when I roll femshep I'm going to use the same face every time because it works.

OP: you are lost, unless you find a way to transfer your save to a flash drive, convert it on PC, apply the Lazarus project or what ever thing you like and then reconvert and retransfer it back to our x-box.
Male sheps import is pretty much fixed from what I hear, but femsheps won't import correctlu, at least some of them.
I am one of the few who were really into the default femshep from ME1/ME2 and even after the latest patch the import did not work correctly.
My one custom maleshep was imported correctly, a mean looking renegade vanguard.

I thought he looked better in 3 than 2. But his face did require some adjusting.

It is hard getting close to the previous version of your character even after modding extensively.
I took that opportunity to call it a huge make-over and since I enjoy modding and making more exotic looks anyway is it not so bad if you can enjoy the same.
Light and shadow effects are rather hard to predict though, so it can help if you find a well lit area in the game with a wall you can stand up to when modding small steps at the time and reloading to check out how it looks. I've not found any such good spots on the ship though.

What annoyed me the most was a FemShep with the brown/light brown hair option. It was the same color in ME1 and 2, and when I imported her into 3 it was so dark brown it was almost black. It's still a little disorienting, but I shrugged it off with a headcanon of "She took her house arrest time to get a lovely makeover."
Now, my original and default turned out even prettier. Can't explain that. But I'm looking forward to fixing my Vanguard's nose.

Actually my Shepards face looks exactly like ME1-2. I cant show any screens cuz I play on the 360 but he looks the same.

Mine looks similar but something is off.
it's like seeing a look-a-like. You know who they are supposed to be but at the same time you know they aren't really that person.

Really, it depends on what basic face type you have chosen. Some faces look vastly different in ME3, but I've had some really good results, some of my imported faces even looked pretty much the same while also looking better overall.

If you're on PC, this can help with your femshep:
http://faceeffect.bl...t-tutorial.html
Was a blessing for me. The jaw can look off if you used one particular mouth type but for the most part your ME2 femshep's head will be restored. My femshep looked nothing like her ME2 counterpart and this helped me so much.
