Aha Nay is gonna blow and ascend as a being of pure energy, and then chase Harbinger back to deep space :)

Really guys, just how hard do you think an overpowered biotic can blow. I see you're thinking of Neo - Smith godly battle but that's ridiculous.

Unexpected turn of events: Naomi stars to burst in a flare of bioti energy. The bubble aroun her grows to epic proportions but suddenly, a lone Marauder pops a pheston round in her head and she's gone. Zia runs furiously towards the marauder and just as she redied her throw, her jaw meets the elbow of doom folowed by a stomp of destiny :D

Well, she decimated a hotel but had Reaper and explosive support. Plus she was in the vat of goo with the Eezo in it.

Then she had that little episode where she saw her own dead body and started reliving what happened to her in the basement.

But those were events that happened in extreme's. Now she's trying to be more controlled I doubt she'll manifest her biotics in such an explosive way.

Just don't make her angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry......

Kinda the problem with Wyld and Zia telling her about their secret relationship..... It'll be the scene with the pipe bomb all over again.

Maybe they can tell her tomorrow. Or the tomorrow after that.... or that.... or just never and hope she never finds out.

I of course am just being over the top, FF. Points of references for how powerful biotics can be in the MEU...well, in general, the fact that mind weapons can compete with guns is supposed to be amazing enough. Really nothing in the MEU from the game, even from the most power biotics, is on the scale of anything anime or Matrix like. Of course, the MEU doesn't take into account some things from its own lore. The best it gets is if you have 4 biotics at level 20 with top gear playing multiplayer on bronze. They'll melt everything. I don't think your average Reaper is supposed to be so easy as a bronze, but whatever.

When it comes to blowing up something larger than a Banshee or Brute, I think that's up to us. But Naomi has to be somewhere between "What's the big deal?" and "That's so powerful why doesn't the Alliance just have her clear everything to the beam?" And, of course, drama dictates that the more powerful a biotic is, the more unstable they should be. Marvel Comic's human torch probably set the bar for that when he went Nova. But that's superheroes. Maybe Naomi wouldn't make it out if she exploded that big. But then that's be the story, right?

Beyond that I can't tell. Try to have Naomi be unique. If she has some power that kind of eclipses the usefulness of some of the main characters, then I'd recommend an appropriate shortcoming to offset it since all main characters are sharing the state. Like that.

Does that help?

Naomi's a bit of a sparker in many ways. Unable to sustain her effort's, but instead builds and bursts.

Here's my take

At the end of the day. She has to much biotic potential to ever really get a handle on it. They'd have to custom build amps that were so far ahead of anything they have now to allow her effective use of her power through her nodes. And they'd have trouble building that stuff in war time with battlefield resources.... then she'd have to learn how to use it properly

As such, the only way for her to learn how to effectively use her power is to hold back from her full potential. That's because her gear was made to handle a certain amount of biotic energy. As such, Zia should probably be teaching Naomi to hold back. Not go full throttle at the drop of a hat.

Naomi needs to develop in small steps. To not over extend herself and develop a degree of comfort with her biotics. Because she doesn't have the level of mastery and comfort using them like Zia does, Zia is a more able biotic. Able to sustain her efforts and target them accordingly to the situation due to her years of training and every day usage. She's just doing what comes naturally to her at this point.

For Naomi, biotics are unnatural and she needs to acclimitise herself to them.

This key difference between them could be hindering the learning process. Zia uses her abilities without a second thought and get's the results she want's. Naomi struggles and doesn't live up to Zia's expectations.

Zia may need to remember her past and think back to how she was taught what she knows. How the person handled her when she messed up. And use that to decide how to approach the teaching method.

Heck. To make Naomi comfortable, Zia might just say..... "I'm going to hide behind here and I want to flare as many times as you can". And afterwards, come out and say well done. Just so she has given Naomi a task that Zia knows is within her ability to complete to build confidence.

Okay, I am officially stuck in a place where I want to write for characters, but also want to wait for those who are interracting with them to get their parts done. That's Kham for Rea and Furious F for the gunship crew.

So, I do want to get something done in the meantime. Talked to RedBelle a bit and the trick is to create a character who doesn't distract from whatever else is going on. And while I want to create a human badly, we have light representation on the alien front. So, what do you think we need more:

1) An old krogan warlord
2) A diciplined Turian commander
3) Geth Primes
4) all of the above

And, or, if you think I should just go with another human, let me know.

Naomi is powerful but not to extent that she could blast Harbingerback in orbit.

She might never rreally get a full grip over her power but she will try. And with new developments she will get the courage to fight.

I'm almost done with my post but the repercussions could lead to a major defensive at Bastion. We should all discuss that later.

Farzam Arok and Dale will be all yours after that Kel.

Take your time. I'm flattered you want to use those characters.

Besides, I found a character to resurrect so to speak. Typing now....:D

I think if Reapers are going to be scary, they'd be Platinum level scary. Of course, as I hear it, playing Insanity level on single player mode is more like playing silver, but I wouldn't know as I haven't gone back and played SP mode (though I am an avid MP fan).

But of course, certain things just don't translate. MP mode is a 'simulator' as far as the fluff is concerned, so what happens is anything goes. I don't think according to lore that phantoms, hunters, Atlas, banshees and scions worked together (oh especially since there are no collectors).

Nevertheless, we do what we want! Cause we're writers. I'd make them pretty formidable. And besides, certain brutes might be nothign special whereas one might have skulls on their spikes and be a particular toughy. Or you know, a banshee might be like Moaning Myrtle or a harvester might be like Harvey...something especially nasty about them...

<Cough> Banchanator <cough>

The thing I generally do with these one on one engagment's is apply certain rules......

How much does it cost to down a bad guy?

If the Banchanator had been a husk then it would have taken one round to the head across a distance in the high rise scene.

Because it was a Banchanator it absorbed the weapon's fire from several small arms and didn't break it's stride.

If Babylon had been firing at it and it had been standing there then it might have taken a clip or two to overwhelm it's barrier's.

Two or three Babylon's might have pierced it's barrier's and done damage. Or one Steiner with a Typhoon and a missle system in Devastator mode.

The tank round blasted it in two and it still survived. But it was severly injured and legless.... but still able to present a threat.

Soooooo basically, what's the cost of killing these things. And can the character's in that situation afford it?

After all. A reaper army attacking Bastion would have to be pretty big, so they'd be spotted quickly. Unless a Harvester came down to them from the sky directly above and dropped off Reaper forces.

I'd go the route of, a flood of Reapers come. And have them stress the Alliance till you are satisfied with the cost to the Alliance. And have the wave peter out.

@Kel
I think Arok, Farzam and Dale are great characters. They remind me of Julia's squad. I actually wanted to expand on their friendship and relationships with each other but I think that's authors privlidge.
I'm not saying you should drop other ideas. I would sure like to see some geth and that old warlord sounds cool. But I was really trying my best to finish my part with the squadron trio as soon as possible so you can take them in your hands and mold them to your liking.

@FF: Farzam, Dale and Arok are yours until you don't need them, so no problem. I'm resurrecting Hugh, so that solved my writer's itch problem.

@favoritehookeronthecitadel: No problem! If you reel burdened by characters, tell me next time and I'll be happy to do something with them, especially since I made them. Well, I got the green light from Mr. Stoob so the turians, well, RIP...

@Shotgun J will reply to your PM later when I get the chance to sit down again for a length.

Awesome entries everybody. Fun reading!

Edit: @Redbelle.  I didn't totally write that off lol!  Okay, maybe you shouldn't expect it.  But I will not say never to such an idea! :P :D

She's a super spy. You don't see her unless she wants you to. :D

Oh, fyi I sent _Samppa_ a friend request, to hopefully get him to link up with the format we've been using.

Stranger things have happened.

Naleena is a despicable person, isn't she? She has absolutely no remorse for anything she's done.

If she ever gets back to the front, she'll send group pictures of the gang to "mother" with her letters.

The family reunions would be a bit awkward, though.

Right now she's WILD ABOUT WYLD.... if WYLD would ever get there and heal her leg....

Yes, I know I could have shortened it, by cutting some of the "story" being told to Marisa, but cutting it I felt would have lost the drama of the character, and sociopaths love drama, and her making it sound so innocent and not her fault at all.

I'm getting to sorting out Wyld and Babylon and Steiner.

Then it's a transition to a time after the bunker with two guy's..... well, you can read about it. And that should get Wyld to the hospital.

Then I need to get Wyld involved in hostial stuff....... while commenting on the health care that the staff are providing........ and wondering. Cause a broken leg? That's easy to fix......right?...... <looks around for support with a worried look on face> right?

Well, Sarge is at Camp Alpha, right? We have to get sarge to camp Bastion, if we want full drama. Of course, that could be, you know, something SJ could write, ahem...:D

Part 1 of.... Get back to Bastion is now complete. I've arrived at a transition phase.

And maybe hinted that the Tee-Eff have an Alliance Presidential candidate among them.

Now it's transition time to the hospital.

It'll all work out in the end..... in the meantime. Just imagine shirtless montage's of Steiner standing on top of a Mako like a boss as it travels through the terrain.

I...can't....cause Steiner is like a taller, more flat nosed, Putin! Without so much KGB in his past.

This war...you fight with the army you've got, right? :D

Exactly

The Tee-Eff and Misfit's are what we have. We roll with them and maybe win.... Or don't and we surely die.

I've posted up a new one to transition Wyld from place and time while referencing a few event's from the bunker. Wylds now ready to do stuff in the hospital.
