Name:  Jonathan Masters
Callsign: Shadow
Race: Human
Age:30
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Theme Song: RipTide Music - Pioneers of the Apocalypse

Anything Special?: Jon is a Slayer class close range assault biotic. He can typically be found sporting a Crusader shotgun and his tailor made monomolecular sword. His N7 Armor sports a variety of upgrades and implants to facilitate his combat expertise and prowess at close range.

Family: Jon is the middle child of a 3 sibling family. His parents lived on Earth and died during the initial invasion. His brother lived on a colony that was attacked by the collectors in the fringes of Alliance territory, and his sister is a reservist who was recalled to service, currently posted in the 5th fleet assisting with supplies procurement and construction for the crucible.

Likes: Writing, Drawing, Poetry, Art in general. Enjoys reading old world tactics and military history. Alien close quarters combat techniques, specifically the Asari and Drell.

Dislikes: The Collectors, Reapers, Traitors, Cowards and Indecisive Politicians.

Personality: Jon is a perfect dichotomy of mellow calm, and excitable energy. He's a hardened veteran soldier who's seen enough combat to keep his cool under fire yet still young enough to have a bit of an attitude and ego about his skill. He's charismatic with his fellow soldiers and stern of smoldering steel against his enemies. He gives no quarter unless it benefits the current tactical scenario. He's proactive and aggressive in most everything that he takes on.

History: Jon is a career soldier. He knew that from his first day in Uniform. The lifestyle, the training, the regimen, the order. It gave his life the purpose he felt it lacked in school. He began the military legacy in his family. Being adopted he counted himself the first even though his grandfather and cousins served as well, they weren't his blood relations and didn't count. He fought agains Batarian Slavers during the Skylian blitz. Platoon was order to make a strike against a weapons storage and transportation gig.. They destroyed the cache and anyone connected and very quickly they were going to get so much more than they bargained for. The batarians came back in force for revenge. The battle was long and bloody leaving only Jon left alive.

It was on that day he recieved his N7 recommendation. He swiftly accepted. He quickly underwent several operations to update and advance many of his implants and biotics.  He opted for a monomolecular sword instead of using his biotics to attack with in melee. Saving his biotic strength to channel more into his charge and phase disruptor blasts. His first mission sortie was against a Collector attack on a colony in the Terminus systems. His team was able to stall the attack but the colony still suffered a 25% loss of it's total personnel. They were recalled for debriefing and downtime when the Reapers hit.

He railed at Command for sending them on missions elsewhere in the galaxy while Earth was burning. His team was sent to back up Alliance operations in locations previously operated by Cerberus or that held Cerberus' eye. They were also sent on blocking missions to halt and stymie Reaper advances. As the Crucible neared completion Hackett and Anderson recalled he and his team and sent them to Earth. Their objective was to disable and disrupt operations in London to prepare for the final assault on the connection beam to the Citadel.

His team took heavy losses and he was cut off before long though. On his own he struggles to link back up with other forces to continue the fight.

RP Sample:

The night burned as building fires raged in all quarters of what used to be downtown London. He had a friend from here once. She used to be like a sister to him. The odds of finding her, and alive at that were slim to none. He took an inventory real quick while he had a moment. His Crusader was busted. Smashed against a Brutes head. He'd picked up a Tempest and Eviscerator along the way. They'd do well enough. Not as hard hitting, but they were also lighter, and left him feeling lighter on his feet which was always a good thing.

"Hostiles closing in." His built in VI alerted him. "Great..." He muttered. "Make up of opfor?" There was a moments pause. "Based on height profiles and mass estimations, targets are likely composed of Cannibals and Husks."

He grinned as he plugged the shotgun from his back, it telescoped out to field mode in his hands. He could hear them scuttling up on his position. Bracing his shoulder against a piece of broken column he riskeda glance over and spotted a half dozen of them. Roaving patrols. The Reapers used them to locate survivors for processing. To the common civilian they were an overwhelming force. He was anything but common, and far from a civilian.

He took a deep breath and remembered his parents. His brother and family.  Stood up locking his sights on the nearest Cannibal. He could feel the prickling hum of energy enveloping his body as the electrical currents raced through the Ezo laced through his syetem. A quarter of a second later he warped 60 meters and slammed clean into the mess of them. The biotic blast alone killed 3 of them within arms reach. Another was knocked to its feet. He executed it with a shotgun blast. The remaining Cannibal attempted to graple him. He teleported away from the attack in a tingling vortex of ezo and electricity, drew his sword and removed the Cannibals face. He twitched his blade to flick the gore off it.

By this point the Husks had reached his position. They were no threat to him alone. Nothing more than tragic cannon fodder. It pained him that he was forced to kill converted versions of his own people. He wondered if the Turians, Asari and Batarians felt the same way as well. Several shotgun blasts devestated the herd of them. He drew his sword to finish the rest. Removing limbs and heads with angered wreckless abandon. By the end of his spree he was once again all alone.

I've been thinking about getting that.

The only problem I have is....PC or PS3 version. Last I heard PS3 suffered slowdon the larger the save file became...... Not sure if that's patched yet.

@FF

I'm writing for the gals. It's going to be a slow burner as Wyld has to get stuff done in conjunction with meeting up with Zia and Naomi. I'm taking the opportunity to etablish more of a bond with Naomi and Wyld, since way back, they didn't really interact much, but Wyld still feels guilty about the whole, Naomi dying thing. Which needs a bit more foundation so that the follow up scenes don't ring hollow.

This may take awhile. But with Zia helping shoulder the load it should run along quicker.

Plus Zia needs time to work out how to be alone with Wyld so doens't spark Naomi's suspicion's

Hey, just PM'd some of you with some questions if you could get back to me. I have some other general ones I'll post here or in the group soon, but I have to run off to work.

Ok Redbelle. I'll be holding up for you then, but it would seem a bit unrealistic if it took forever for Wyld to go find her friends.
Well now that the 'basted' gave her a whole new set of duties, a longer wait can seem normal. Btw who is at the pub currently from your convoy, just in case I can't resist the urge to write?

It's probably a good thing that Farzam didn't hear Zia's joke about Naomi acting like a mobile primer or he would have surely delved on the idea :)

It's just I amagine him like our own little copy of Shepard. I have a very high opinion about our squadron leader ;)

Well, all right! Hooray for Farzam. We'll go with that. He might be less of a hero than Shep, but he also probably makes better tea.

Please check out the group section. I have updated Camp Bastion for current forces and chain of command. I'm going to post some list of questions for people but I should do some actual writing.

This is a lot of stuff to organize! Please give feedback.

I'll work on getting an entry post whipped up. Anyone up for rescueing a lone vanguard looking for (relative) safety?

Not sure how to set it up. We could have Farzam and a few volunteers doing a recon fly over the perimeter and accidentally bump into your slayer :)

But it's not up to me...

There is also a Mako with a man called Michaels driving around.

He's an NPC who has a little history, was created to serve a purpose, fufilled it, and then remained as a background guy who can be called upon if need be.

Michaels Mako and his crew.

@playoff52: You have some options if you want to integrate: There is Tempest 4, a heretofore undeveloped A-61 Mantis Gunship for first class rescue and recovery. Don't blow it up please :D  There are also Kodiaks at Camp Bastion.  You have Michaels and the Mako Command Relay team. They could pick you up if you like a ride in a Mako (and let's face it...who doesn't?!) You could be picked up by Clanless, some Urdnot krogan, a bunch of scruffy teen survivors and some missiles....all in a Tomkah, or you could coordinate with one of the writers for a pick up. Right now, the only characters out of the base are on Tempest 2, and that part I'm writing with Khambilo and FavoriteH. High drama on this one, and would be like jumping into a cold pool of water as far as character development, plus might slow down writing as we integrate, but it certainly is an option.

Choose wisely! :D

Edit: Redbelle wins for typing faster.

@RedBelle (and FF):

You may find some interesting people at the infirmery, as soon as there's a chance for me to post up.

And, by the way, did your hard drive take an arrow to...never mind.

Losing saves does suck. Much compassion.

Jan's armour died not long ago. Naomi killed it. It was a mercy killing in all fairness, but it's now dead.

So what kind of armour should she get to replace it?

Been thinking and when it comes down to it, Jan's always been more vunerable than most because she's just a grunt with a rifle. She's, near as, gone standard issue with guns and armour. Offset more destructive devices with medic gear. And works best supporting squads, for which she has pretty much become divided from over the course of the war. All of which led to her taking a bullet.

The Valkyr was effectively her extra protection, but she can't always rely on that to be there to bail her out.

So, I'm inviting discussion on her new armour + features. And her new weapon + features.

Though if she does get a new rifle she's getting an extended clip addon. She's always running out of thermal clips..... Or her rifle explodes.

Depending on what happens with Arkeer may also depend on wheather she will need a new side arm to replace that pistol Arkeer gave to Rothan's Asari.

Seriously though. Wyld, as a medic, need better equipment. Standard issue's not cutting it.

Is Wyld a really good shot, because I'm sure Sully has something the Sarge is using back there. Devastatingly accurate, small caliber, though. You need to make a headshot with it, and you can get a silencer. Not too much of a demand for them. They usually come with a high capacity magazine. Smaller caliber than the Predator. Perfect for assassinations. Bullet goes in the head and scrambles the brains, no exit wound. Doesn't work well on brutes or krogan unless you hit them in the eye.

Quick entry to be added to later: I have to run but @Redbelle, I want to see if I can collaborate with you for writing, and I have some ideas regarding gearing up. Please give me the chance to respond, which I'll probably do in a few hours, before you post your next piece.

The plan is to have Wyld camp bound, so there is no hurry to kit her out till she has a reason to leave the camp.

Till then, she's relegated to just her pistol.

Regarding her armour, I imagine Sully using one of those Iron Suzies I mentioned before that can scan her body size and fabricate armour for her.

The question is, light, medium heavy? Feature's on the armour?

She's been romping around in light armour since she has to be highly mobile and was intended to be part of a squad who could support her.

Heavy Steiner like armour doesn't seem like it would be her thing, given the character. But since I haven't finalised anything about her armour, I'm wondering how other's would see a non biotic/slighty techy medic with leg's that can stick to walls decked out.

I'm considering defribulator paddles built into the palms of her gloves.

Armitage - "I trust the deal is clear"?

Wyld - "You shouldn't give me opening's like that".

I like how Bastion suddenly sounds like its bursting with activity. Sounds like Wyld might get a Krogan neighbour if Ben doesn't pass her injury off as a flesh wound.

Well I actually named all of my multiplayer characters after our heroes. So my vanilla fem soldier is Jerry-Ann Wyld, although, she could become an engeneer as far as Sully's craftmanship goes.
He could clamp up some fancy gimick for her armor and omni tool:wizard:

I actually named my Quarian engeneer Rothan :) well since we don't have Quarian biotics in MP

Of course the the huntress is Naleena T'sarius

Rea is my Asari adept, and Arok Lahiras is my Drell asassin :)

You might guess who's my N7 Destroyer:happy:

Anyway, Sully is a guy that has the toys and if anyone needs something special, he's gonna sort you out ;)

Glad to see Arkeer return with style :)

Sully has an old Claymore in parts laying around in his shop. Maybe he could put it together for Arkeer..
