From under the rubble of the hotel a pool of liquid seeped out and ran down the street where the pull of gravity demanded it run. It dripped down the collapsed section of road where the body of a young woman lay, sprawled out, her face as grey as a husk. The fluid began to pool and rippled, and slowly began to writhe.
A form began to appear from the centre. Arising as a sphere that began to elongate and stretch. The form continued to rise a blobulous mass until parts seperated out, denoting arms and legs. The form continued to grow and take shape till the form of a man arose and looked around. A monocle appearing out of it's liquid face to rest against the cheek and brow.
As he felt himself take shape, Count Berger surveyed where he had awoken. He opened his mouth to call out. But found his vocal cords had not yet manifested. He waited impatiently before trying again. "Huffff.... Huuuumppppff". He coughed. "Huuuuumpreee.... Huuuumpreeee. Humpfrey! Humpfrey"!
Another pool of liquid dripped down and formed at his feet. A form began to emerge Berger tapped his foot impatiently. "Come along, Come along"!
Humpfrey's head emerged out of the pool. "Did you call master"?
Berger gestured. "Pull yourself together man". Phase Von has failed. Ve must undertake phase two immediately"!
He gestured to the body. "Pick her up. Ve may have further use of this von".
Berger laughed as he twirled his moustache... which gave him pause as he plucked at the facial hair.
"Now vhere did this come from"?

Name: Zursuos Gebatus
Race: Turian
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hetero
Anything Special?: Biotic. Accomplished soldier, but not outstanding. See History for "twist"
Family: Father career military. Mother military intelligence. Both dead after Reapers attacked Palaven. See History for "twist."
Likes: Anyone who is worthy of his respect. Courageous, honorable, skilled.
Dislikes: Those who associate him with his infamous cousin.
Personality: Gruff. Unsure of his own abilities. Chip on his shoulder.
History: Zursuos began his military service at a young age. He showed promise, but mostly due to his biotic talents. Although not among the most gifted, like the Turian Cabals, he is creative with his abilities and use them to perfectly complement his innate military acumen and talents. A sure-shot and master of all Turian (and most alien) weaponry, Zursuos was invited to join the Turian Blackwatch just before the Reapers hit. Now, separated from his former comrades and his new unit, Zursuos moves from battle to battle, intent on destroying as many Reaper forces as he can. Not just to preserve the Turian race. Not just to avenge his parents, slaughtered in the initial Reaper attack. Most of all, to avenge the death and help restore the former reputation of his mentor; his cousin, Saren Arterius.
RP Sample: Zursuos knew these troops were raw. Granted, Turians learned how to hold a gun when they were old enough to physically lift it. However, he could see uncertainty in most of their eyes, and overconfidence and ignorance in another. This, particular recruit was eyeing him with suspicion, as if to say, "Why should we believe you won't turn on us like your traitorious cousin did?" Zursuos resisted the urge to injure a soldier when their numbers were slim enough.
"OK, you all know the plan. They're going to come down this small gulch, unless they have Harvester support, in which case you're either fast or dead, anyway. When I fire the first shot, we all open up on them; cross-fire, pattern gamma. Do NOT stop firing until your weapon overheats or every last one of those abominations are dead. Any questions?"
"Sir, what can we expect for enemy troop count?"
Zursuos eyed his Vindicator battle rifle. "I hope you salvaged a LOT of clips, private..."

I'm trying to catch up on the whole story, but I thought I'd start with something kind of simple to introduce my character and leave his presence open for others to use in the future.
I hope to read as much as I can shortly. From what I HAVE read, it's an excellent story.

Radcliffe calls it.
There is a lot to get through in the mean time, as character's are interacting with other characters. And there is still drama going on in Bastion.... But.....
Now Momma got the Reaper keys from EDI we have comm's back up, both in base and out on the field. That means people can go out and still be in contact with others.
Bastion is getting a bit familier now. It was intended as a meeting point to bring characters together and mesh. It's not meant to be a stopping point. If there are those who want to get out of Bastion and return to active war duty then there is nothing to stop any of us.
That said, some of these character's have developed their own voices and we're just letting everyone who reads the thread hear them. There are things left unsaid that needs to be said. But I think, if we canot find anything else to say, we should focus on the beam....
At present I don't think we're at that stage yet. However, I do think that some of us can begin moving in that direction ahead of the rest. There is still ground to cover, Reaper's patrolling or converging on area's that Bastion has managed to dodge.
Their is recon to be done. Advanced scouting and diversion tactics to be had. Mako's freed from intell gathering to utilise. Kodiaks that cannot take flight in the beam area till the Reaper AA has been taken down. To get out of Bastion, we all need to think of a reason why our characters would. The Asari aren't technically part of the Alliance force gathered so they can move off without asking much in the way of permission and bum a ride from someone. Or...... And I find this a much more fun idea...... There's still a four wheeled Mako from before lying around that's had enough repair to move again. Perhaps the Asari squad could...... borrow it?
I believe we settled on our own beam run, but now the question to be had is.... who makes it when. One of our group wants to head out ahead of Shepard..... Which sounds fun!
It could be.... Writer - Shepard - Other writers. Or what ever we as individuals want to do. Either in groups or seperately.
We have Makos and Kodiaks that can transition people out of the camp back into the front lines. Or they can hot foot it out of the camp. Or they can talk to the intel people and the writers can make up objectives, or just go out to the beam in a... fight to survive mode of writing.
Looking back at how we started writing this thread, it may be time for all writers to ask, how to get out of nice, comfortable Bastion. And back out into the war torn street's of London.
I can't do that yet. I've got character moment to be had.... And it's just to much fun interacting with those who write differently than I do.
Plus there's going to be Pizza. And oil. But mainly pizza. Because that's what the Corpsman ordered.
Plus, Steiner needs to do something about these non alliance types if he can find the gumption to get off his lazy N7 arse.

@Ice Cold J: Yeah, we wrote quite a lot. Hope you are enjoying the catch up! Keep writing, though. We lost rogo95 I think, and maybe Desio. But the key is to write what you can, when you can, and keep it going. Eventually everything will be integrated.
Re: The Beam: Well, we could move out of the camp on final orders from Radcliffe. Or a big Reaper threat. But I like the idea that Radcliffe finally gets everyone under way, having accomplished the task of assembling a force. Missiles must be fired, the beam must be reached, etc. This, of course, when people are ready, but there could be loadout montages, speeches, etc.
You know, all the drama.

Part 1 should go up after FF posts about Zia and Wyld for chronological progression. Otherwise Wyld will appear in two places at once....
And then I get to bail it out by introducing Wyld's little known twin sister. Eve-lyn
Mwahaha!

What Kel said.
And like Bruce Lee once said. My style is to have no style..... or sumting like that.
I think what allows this thread to run is that if something blocks natural progression of narrative, we sidestep, have an interlude of something else going on, then return if we can.... or if not..... Move onto something else.
So far I've had to bury the Bunker scenes, Hospital scenes and the Outcast scenes..... but just because I found I'd bitten off more than I could chew at the time didn't mean an end to those things completely.
The bunker scene's are now being told in past tense by those who arrived. Kind of like the scene in Star Wars Ep3 where Anakin and Palpatine sit down in front of a laser display show and we're treated to, not a dramatic laser sword wielding spectacle, but simple aural story telling.
The Hospital scenes were dropped, but referenced as my main character realised she couldn't do everything by herself, so I invented a group of other characters to take on the work. And then we'll likely never see them again. But the implication is that they are hard at work.
And the Outcasts?...... Well. I've touched on a rebel group of humans who don't care that the worlds ending and are simply all for one last blowout before it all comes crashing down around them..... But honestly... I don't know if I'll ever get around to them other than easy non Reaper canon fodder who'll beg for mercy and stab you in the back as soon as you give it to them.
The point is, this is messy story telling where one post doesn't conform to another because there are a number of us doing our own thing. But keep posting enough and eventually it develops a life all of it's own.
Seriously. If the next few posts result in two Wylds I need to recheck my character sheet and see if there is a sister I can use..... Because if not then I need to go with plan B which involves Momma and a group of Loki's.
Heheheheh

Ok this went in the story thread
It's blank now and that gave me an idea. You don't have to wait for me now, I'll just drop my next one there. So @RB & Kel - you can go and post your stuff. Zia is just going to talk with Jan in armory and then she'll be off about her business finding Naomi.
So if you have an itch and you can't wait, it doesn't matter since my post will come before yours even if I post it tomorrow.

Nice to see Zia and Wyld together again. Liking what goes down in that scene.
And Zee's worried about Wyld? Well, she hasn't got her armidillo armour on.....
Okay, it's not armidillo armour. Just wanted to see what the mental image looked like. Would make a great rolling abll attack though. But we have three Volus working for Broadcast Engineering Enterprises who can fill that roll.
Anyway. I'm going to be doing some work on the state of the camp and Tee-Eff and misfits this weekend along with working with Kel, so hopefully we can move this onward. I think it's time the Tee-Eff and misfit's locked horns while we get setup for moving out of the camp.
It's just to comfortable in Bastion!
That said, it's not going to be an immediate push. Just prodding things towards that direction.
Oh, And Steiner waved to another N7 in the camp he knows from the program. Perhaps an N7 who has appeared in the thread recently? The openings there.
