okay....
Tomorrow I'm plowing through the draft FF and I put together.
@FF I'm going to have to make an alteration where Wyld gives a speech. No idea why.... I remember something about somebody wanting her to give a good speech. So she's going to have to do that before she........... aaah. Spoilers......
Anyway. I may have to cut the draft into two posts so I can slice Wyld into it at some point before they...... Spoilers!

Well it was supposed to be sunny and 65 today. It is foggy and 48. Yuck. I was going to play golf. That sucks. Oh well. I might hit the driving range again in an hour.
I've learned that taking the "renegade b*tch" interrupt makes life easier at times, especially if you don't care about the person with whom you're dealing. Just be a total b*tch, and you won't have to deal with them any more. It works especially well in person or over the phone. This is why they don't like us senior citizens. We either become 1) push overs; or 2) cranky old people. I'm becoming #2 because my inner censor is turning off. I'm saying things I wouldn't have believed I'd have said 10 years ago. You can guess I had to tell off a couple of people, and as such I feel better.
But I've got another one up this afternoon complete with music. The last tunes from Sully's from me until after the war, unless I do a "meanwhile back at Bastion" episode for Sgt. Clark in the trenches with his machine gun, cigar and son feeding the belt -- sorry I'm going full WW II survivalist with this. This "meanwhile" will be ridiculous.

Hey Redbelle, I know you can do better than Shepard's "we're all gonna die" speech.

Hmmmm.
"Ladies and Gentlemen..... I hand you over to Brigadier Baldurjack Baldwin the Forth.....!"
"Thank you commander! I must say! It's about time!"

No. Ye shall not Baldurjack this up!
Ahem, you roll with it SJ. If you gotta tell someone what's what, I'll be cheering you on from here!
Kham and I are talking behind the scenes. My writing time is crunched over the weekend but you never know...anyway. Stuff is happening.

Remembering my own advice from long long ago.... I'm just posting what FF and I have come up with.
@FF I've had to make one alteration... which is kinda big, but won't mean we have to redevelop anything for the Wyld speech. I've just chopped the first draft at a point where we can have a diversion, then return back to setting out.
Now I've just got to write a speech!

First part of the FF collab has gone up. I'm writing Wyld's speech now. Then we drop back into the collab and it's goodbye Bastion.
@FF I don't think we'll be coming back here at the rate things are going. We seem to be gathering momentum. But no fear. Some plots need closure so I'll be taking a few bit's of Bastion with us for awhile.
@SJ.
Maybe get the Kodiak's to give the swuad a lift if you need to cover ground fast. Just watch out for the AA guns.

@RB Okay I've got a map of London pulled up. I can see London Bridge. Exactly where is the beam from there?

@SJ Where ever you want it to be.
I've been purposely not describing many things, since I know we'll just forget in the long run.
So here's an opportunity to put the beam where you want.
All I can say regarding the positioning of the beam is.....
I think we have all been heading south? From the beginning of the thread.... so anywhere in a cone from Bastion, which was also not localised as anywhere.......
I'd say that Bastion is North of the Thames, The beam is South, and London Bridge is perhaps an indirect route to the beam that provides the easist mode of crossing....... and therefore the most dangerous.
On the other hand, the alliance forces know the area and know they will come under assault if they try to cross that way. So they can plan ahead to try and prevent that from happening.
I'm going to say that Mako's can either try to jump or can drive across the river bed. Those things are space worthy so I'm calling spaceworthy watertight. Because?
Eh....

Look! Catalyst!

Okay.... for the purposes of a general idea of where stuff is.....
Bastion is near or at the Holburn tube station.
And the beam is near or arund Peckham Rye common.
I know that leaves other bridges as options, but I'll just call those bombed and destroyed. Leaving only London Bridge as an easily crossable location
In the words of Admiral Ackbar..... "It's a Trap"!
Again. I tend to leave location names out of things so character's can just point and say, "It's this way"!
Once past the Thames I think the warfare is going to heat up. And the Bastion force needs some context.
Bastion is providing, perhaps the last punch of the war. Everywhere else is committed. Bastion are the last reinforcements anyones getting and they have huuuge distance to cover.
The good news is that they are strong enough to overcome anything that get's in their way. As long as they can anticipate and head off threats. So the advance teams of Bastion and collecting info from dug in troops will be vital to their progress. These guy's have to make it to the beam. Otherwise, if they get there with a couple of dudes and find it's guarded by ...... Harvey. Dougal. A platoon of huskies and the whole other load, they'll have completed their objective of getting to the beam. But have no way to continue the mission.
I say that as it's to be expected that the push forward will lose people. But lose to many and the beam push by Pony and his Love/Hate Turian cohort becomes ridiculous.... And then I have to call in Baldurjack support. Which is easily with two men. So they'll be attacking with four men. Only two of them are insane..... So it's really only two.

So from looking at the map I'd say that Shepard is bogged down around Evelina and Queens Rd. The first set of Thanix Missiles are at Linden and Nunhead. The second a smidge further up. The Reaper is at Banfield and Nunhead Ln.
We were on the north, not the south. Ooops. Artistic license to screw up. It's dark and I get my directions all mixed up. You do not want me to drive in Borderlands, I can't stop and ask for directions, you have to have your map open at all times and play GPS "At the next intersection, turn left."

Okay, read everything and am up to date. I presume there would be some Primes, and some vehicles that won't be Thames worthy. Anything that could be loaded on a shuttle or a Mako could be ferried across provided some enemies weren't on the opposite shore with serious firepower.

I'm crossing at Blackfriars. We found a boat. It's there. *poof* Magic. It's there because I have Tali as my avatar, and Tali is the most heroic character in the series.

By the way this was supposed to be another nice gorgeous sunny day, 65 degrees. I was going to play 18 holes. What was the weather like. Foggy. 46 F. And I'm talking the kind of fog that is like visibility about two blocks. Fortunately I made fresh pesto sauce yesterday and have some gnocchis for dinner.
It was probably sunny somewhere. Just not here.

I made tomato sauce with the shed load of tomato's I grew this year.
To many which started going off. So one blender later I had enough puree to fill a freezer.
It's not warm over here. It's been raining all day.

The speech.... is down.
Wyld made a speech.
And as soon as she finished.... she left on mission.....
I don't know if she'll be back at Bastion before the roll out. I'm thinking not. What they have to do is going to take awhile.
Find Naomi..... the secret weapon of the alliance thanks to Cerberus.

All that remains is for Steiner to find a pack of Vorcha and give them a rousing speech.....
"So there's like.... Reapers..... And we.... you know..... Gotta kill em..... like, you know.... with guns!"
"Guns!"
"We liiiike guns!"
"Big guns?"
"Yeah.... big.... you know.... guns."
".....We follow you now!"
