Uhhhh. New guy at work.... keeps looking over my shoulder. Another pair of eye's in the workplace which means I can't sneak in a four page entry in the day.

On the plus side, the deadlines out the way, so I can commit to being sneaky more!

Boom! Content!

I feel the last entry was a bit...... unfocused...... but with so much to get through in so little time...... It get's the character's rolling onwards.

I'm getting to the front if it kills the two no name soldiers in red shirt's.

I have to admit. Naomi is one of my favourites.

You look at where this character came from , and where she is now, I think Naomi is the one whose travelled the furthest in terms of character development.

And she was kidnapped for most of it!

Not bad for the young woman who nearly got writtten out of the story by dying in the crashed Kodiak.

And I've figured out after reading through this mess Naleena is funny. She's the James Bond of the group. Don't tell me which actor James Bond you liked best. I don't care about that. I'll tell you which one she is. She's got the Roger Moore sense of humor with a bit of Irina Derevko (Sydney Bristow's mother) from Alias thrown in.

I've begun archiving my portion of the story and the joint portions where there is overlap between. Kel/me; Redbelle/me; Kel/Kham/me. Everyone involved will get credit.I must say that just the Asari portion is huge. I urge each of you to take a look at your own contributions and you'll be astounded by the scope of this project.

I've put the first 15 sections into a MS Word Doc of "The Lost Asari" alone and that's over 40 pages. I wrote 77 sections of "The Lost Asari" and I've got about four to go. So we're looking at about 220 pages. Plus the overlapping chapters which will add another 30 to 40 pages. That's a lot of work. And I'm going to post it on the Fan Fiction site once I get it all organized.

I think I'll make a special section for he "Mac Attacks" in the appendix. You know those scenes where a Vorcha screamed "I LIVE!!!" and other gems.

When I started this I wrote everything into a word doc and pasted it.....

I've fallen off that wagon for the last few posts, but I know I was over one hundred before Christmas. Think it's time to get back on track with putting stuff into docs

Tip of the spear.

Baldurjack half lay where he had woken. His back against the remains of a wall. Surrounded by the remains of what had been the hotel.

To lead the charge. You have to lead by the tip.

yeah, I need to get him moving too. He's past the hotel though. He's getting ready to arrive at Bastion, rescue a man and his dog, one simpering Private, and find a flag.

The less we think about how he crosses the river though the better.

As to how he's moving so fast...... He found the counts Mechasteed.

Baldurjacks slowly been stealing all his stuff!

Next Post!

Baldurjack.

(Quick note. Baldurjack was originally going to be called, Jack. But since that wasn't a name that fit an overblown character I looked around for inspiratoin and saw an original copy of Baldur's Gate sitting on my shelf..... the rest is history).

I think I may need to cut the bombing run sequence due to time constraints.

I might work it in some other way...... not sure. Will see how the rest goes.

I was simply reading through some of the old posts looking for some of the collaboration stuff between Khambilo, Kel, and me, and stumbled across that. Ah, I remember that "tip of the spear" with fondness.

Now it's onward to Wyld and the Sarge.

*Scene's we'll probably never see on the Citadel

The Crowd hushed as the woman in the red dress laid her cards down on the table. Aria declared. "Three fours, with king, ace kickers".

All eye's turned to the Maruader in the Tuxedo. Slowly, he sighed and placed his cards down on the table.

"One pair". Aria declared as she scooped up the cards. "The lady wins".

The Maurader pulled out a cigar, from his other pocket he pulled out a cutter and snipped the end off which fell on the table. "It seems I must congratulate you". He said with a voice of course nails. "You play this game divinely...... Ms"?

The lady patted her other lady friend on the back as she turned and flashed him a smile. "Wyld". She said. "Jerry-Ann Wyld". She leaned forward with her elbows on the table. "....And may I know what they call you"?

The Marauder lit his cigar and took several puffs before he pulled it out from between his black teeth. "Shield's", he stated.

Wyld gestured at his head. "You want me to take a look at that wound? It looks like you got shot".

Shield's flesh drew back around his teeth in what Wyld recognised as a smile. "Yes...... And in doing so, I was freed. Free now..... to run this Casino as I see fit"!

Aria's face betrayed nothing but Wyld thought she caught a hint of resentment when he mentioned who owned the establishment they now played in.

Shield's continued. "And don't think I don't know why your really here Ms Wyld. I'm well aware of the event's that brought you to my table..... And who this dealer really is.....". He gestured to Aria. "I have you targetted by the security system of this table that will microwave all but me at the slightest hint of violence. My men will rain fire into your boiling corpses, while down in the pits of this place..... My Reaper will be completed allowing me to mingle and work from within to take over and control the Reaper indoctrination signal giving me access to the galaxy's largest army to conquer all life in the galaxy with. And you think you can stop me?"

Wyld smiled. "What say we stake the outcome on the next hand"?

Shield's puffed his cigar. "We know what the outcome will be".

Wyld eye'd Aria. "You never know. Sometimes, luck's on the side of the underdog".

Wyld eye'd Aria. "You never know. Sometimes, luck's on the side of the underdog".

The door to the casino burst open. Four well-armed Asari Commandos and one Asari military officer entered. One had a sniper rifle aimed at Shields. Another took up position with an NAA Hellbringer; one with a Harrier; one with a Paladin; one with a Locust. The commander with a very fancy assault rifle. Aria smiled.

"It's over, Shields! We're on to you!" Naleena shouted, "Jan! Aria! Get over here!"

"Told ya," Wyld said.

The smug look returned to Aria as she and Jan got out of their seats and walked to the commandos. "What took you so long, Naleena? I was getting worried."

Naleena shrugged her shoulders. "You know the usual. A nuke and shooting STG toads, and I'm a Spectre now. We saved The Council."

"That's what I've always liked about you, Naleena. You never take half-way measures," Aria said, "You know Jan Wyld?"

Wyld got a wicked smile, and then she felt a bump on her right side. It was Ranassa handing her a Carnifex and some thermal clips.

"Oh yeah, she made it all possible," Naleena handed Aria her side arm.

"Who is watching our rear?" Wyld asked.

"The meanest bundle of hate in the galaxy and her biotic squad. We just kind of found each other."

"My kind of people." Aria said.

Then Naleena turned her attention back to Shields. "And your big plan is FUBR. You won't be able to control ****. There is no indoctrination signal. Girls, let's show 'em how we do things downtown."

"Let's rock!!!!" Ranassa shouted.

Meanwhile, in an alternate universe, Vasquez asked Drake, "Seriously, if I knew how catchy that phrase would be, I would have trademarked it, quit the military, and opened a cafe with the name."

Drake said, "A cafe? Really. How long do you think it would take before you shot some ***hole customer who ***ched about not having enough milk in their latte?"

Vasquez thought to herself and frowned. "You're right. F*** the cafe."

okay. Baldurjack..... done.

Next, Zia and Naomi. Gotta ahve their talk before..... well.... that would be telling. Then back to Wyld.

Nice to see Rob and Pike together.... It's like the MERPG just gained a fish out of water buddy cop dynamic.

Shields turned to his heavy thugs the ones wearing sneers the way some people wore their hearts on their sleeves. "Quickly"! He rasped. "You must..... sacrifice yourselves! So I CAN LIVE"!!!

With that he turned and fled, darting to the side and out of sight inside a nearby elevator. The doors closed as the thugs turned to the heavily armed motley crew of assembled firepower. "Now"! The lead thug cried out. "We will show you!.... OUR TRUE POWAH"!!!

The thugs slumped to the ground as under their suits, their skin seemed to boil causing the fabric to ripple and stretch. Their eyes rolled back in their skulls and then they tore apart.

Their skin hung off their muscled armoured bodies the way a half eaten candy wrapper hung off a bar of chocolate that was half melted from expsoure to the sun. Wyld could hear bone and sinew snapping while muscle tore and flapped like someone had released a spring mounted blind. What lay underneath however more than compensated.

Nanogenic catalytic mutation. Designed to implant sleeper agents into places where agents needed to take action.  The technology however was barbaric. It's effects irrevsible once the process had taken place. The only application being to create suicide soldiers who either exploded, or turned into what Wyld saw growing before her eyes.

The lead NaCaMu raised an arm, that seemed to have grown a bone launcher for an arm. Whose muscle mass suggested it could fire them though plate steel.

"Just once". Wyld muttered. "Just once..... couldn't we have a dance off to decide these things"?

One of the NaCaMu's at the back grunted. "I'd be up for that"!

The one with the bone launcher snapped back. "Shut up Dwayne...... You know I can't dance".

Aria grumbled. "Couldn't we have shot them before they transformed"?

Naleena grinned. "I bet they microwave just the same though".
