Sorry, I'd just compared the plot of ME3 to Dizzy's shorts in Gears of War 3.

BTW my last two episodes were the most difficult to write of the lot. Naleena's story arc starts making more sense. I hope you're enjoying them.

Damn, this thing is up to 110,600 words, and if it were a paperback it would be 445 pages long, and I haven't even put Padre or Maelstrom in yet.

You know this is another glitch in the Mass Effect Universe. You know how kinetic barriers are supposed to work, right? And they're supposed to make low velocity weapons ineffective, and especially old school stuff like we have today. Yet, we have high tech stuff today that's amazing, but never mind. Kinetic barriers on people. They're totally ineffective in the Karpyshyn novels. They're a video game mechanic. The hand held Mass Accellerated weapons will be noisier than the current weapons rendering them effectively useless indoors without hearing protection especially since these are supposed to defeat the kinetic barriers. You would need to use them with a suppressor. A .22 cal pistol in a corridor with a suppressor still produces around 110 dB.

Then there's the Scorpion pistol that fires these mini-sticky grenades that somehow get through the kinetic barrier and stick to the target, even the face, yet don't kill unless they knock down the kinetic barrier first. Ah, video game mechanic. But in the novels they ignore the kinetic barrier.

Hence the kinetic barriers are a video game mechanic. They aren't going to help anyone at a distance of six feet even against a conventional firearm. Only ablative armor will.

Snow days off are snow days on for me and weekends off are weekends on. And Presidents' day off is presidents day on. So the more 'vacation' we have the less I am writing. Anytime someone wants to actually let me work, I'll be happy to get to the place I can write again. That should be Tuesday, but then that will be the first day back in 5 days...Maybe spring? Maybe summer? 2020? Just wake me...

Well, the good news is that I'm into the Oculus attack now. Which will mean that Rea and Rothan will soon begin hearing the effects outside. Which means they'll know help has arrived.

Meanwhile.

Baldurjack closes the gap after his mighty mechasteed either swims the thames or uses the millenium bridge next to tower bridge.

Kel, I'll keep sending you the draft to look through. I know we haven't gotten to Rea and Rothan yet, but you'll get an idea of the state of paly and maybe have a idea about when to bring them into play.

FYI I don't know if Rea and Rothan will hear much other than the shrieking engines of the Starscreamer, explosions of shockwaves, the Starscreamer's gunfire, stuff being ripped up through the inside of the museum, and the frying sound of Oculus beams trying to cook them. :)

I figure they can lose them inside the building amoung the exiibts and play a game of cat and mouse while Rothan plays with the exibits like a child in a sweet shop.

Rothan - I could reignite the engines using a plasma torch and this lump of highly combustible Eezo that I just happened to be carrying around for no particualr reason but I'm so glad I did........ And now I can build a trap for the Oculus that won't leave me and Rea alone!

It's like...... Home Alone meets in the Museum!! Starring! Macaulay Rothan!

Don't say 2020, Kel, I want to finish my story. If it's going to take that long, I may have to... ahem... improvise on a few things, and just not post them here. But they have to do with sub-plots not your main plot.

If I had anything to do with it, I would write.  But when the snow shuts down schools where I am every other day, plus add federal holidays and the kids being sick and then sick again...I'm going to punch God right in the face if I ever meet him.  He'd have been better off being an athiest!

Hi Samppa,

Have you been following the story? We're on the push to the beam. Harbinger has landed and is guarding the beam. I have a group of Asari Commandos on the Citadel that's raising hell with the real enemy - Salarian STG. We blew up the starchild. The reapers are disorganized. Some have agreed to follow Harbinger's lead, others are in disagreement. Still they have a goal to harvest earth. They are building a reaper on the Citadel. You guys have to get Shepard onto the Citadel. We opened the Citadel. The Crucible is on its way. So create a squad and go for it.

The beam is in Peckham Rye Common. That's where Harbinger is. I'd suggest starting east of Evelina and coming in with Shepard's group. There's also some Bloodpack and geth in that area. You might be able to team up with them. Gnish is in charge. He's a Vorcha. He's under strict orders from Aria to support Shepard.

Not to mention an Alliance AI called Momma has spread itself out amoung the Alliance and is providing logistical support and tactical overview on Earth.

Oh, and we had a Captain called Radcliffe who was supposed to be doing that...... but we keep rolling his Command Mako over.

Things went well today so I should be writing the next part by tomorrow. Though it isn't a Rea/Rothan part. That's going to wait for RedBelle.

I've got another Naleena part in the chute. Lucy gave me an idea (sorry RB, I just had to steal it, but it has a twist). Naleena gets to be a b**** though. Debating on a plot twist at the moment.... it's been foreshadowed, but I'm not sure I want to use it. Oh what the hell.

You think Asari have everything, but they don't. They have ... ear envy. Heading into the big confrontation, your protagonist needs to look like a boss. Am I right?

No time to do any edit other than a quick spell check. Still, got it done.
