You know Bailey. That'll just ****** him off.

I've got it written. I'm doing a little revising. Do I want Naleena to go Jack Bauer on someone? Or not? Just to endear her to the reader for fun. Or is it time to show a softer side? But the war isn't over.

okay, so should be into writing next week. Provided I'm allowed to have a normal week....

Which is fine since RB is doing the whole next thing involving R/R. I have something for possible interlude but am waiting for the awesome that is Wyld to continue the main character stuff. Can't wait!

The report from Naleena's suppressed .22 cal would be killer, too.

Righteo... Momma's sniper antics are now forming and once past that, I can get into the meat of the encounter. Hopefully should have something up the next day.

Kind of a Momma centric post in the battle of the museum.

Writing up the Wyld and Lucy part now.

Thanks guys.... The AI bullet time idea came from a book that talked about an AI detective that was blown apart using a nuclear weapon. By running it's run time speed up to maximum it was able to turn the second into what would be weeks for us to figure out waht it could do..... Whenit found it could not do anything it was left deciding if it should simpy run it's speed down and get it over with, or continue to watch the enevitable fire creep ever closer.

Anyway, Momma's still restricted to the speed of her physical components. The mount cannot move as fast as she can think and so on.

Next up.... Wyld and Lucy duel an Oculus

No wonder Momma acts like a know it all. She's had weeks to think about what Wyld and co have to consider in seconds!

I can only imagine its the leadership and all those that fall under its hierarcy in the Salarian Union. Ones who just want to fix the chicken soup machines and go home to watch Only Fools and Elcors.....

The Blue Collar Salarian!

I hope no one needed Valern for anything....

Most hero stories are written where the hero is beaten down mentally and physically and has to give a "world of cardboard" speech indicating "I'm back," and then goes and kicks ass. This included Mass Effect 3, where Shepard was beaten after losing to Kai Leng on Thessia. Then after his/her 10 minute retirement gave the "I'm back" and went for Sancutary. Or the hero gets beaten down in the final confrontation, and then the villain does the Ominous Walk of overconfidence ("why didn't he just shoot him?") because the villain just wanted to savor the moment. This gives the hero time to recover and defeat the villain.

I thought I'd break the mold a little bit and play turn around. I was sick of the bad guys having all of the fun. This is what it is like having a Type V anti-hero (nominal hero) on your side doing a curb stomp. They just... don't... give... a damn. Her victim was helpless, and Naleena was savoring the moment.... like a boss. She had the the cool outfit, cool gun in one hand, and a BFG (big f***ing gun) in the other (biotics), and she was stone cold.

It is okay for the anti-hero to do this as long as the one being curb stomped is more loathsome, otherwise the anti-hero simply looks like a bully. If however they are taking out the trash, they look like a hero and the audience has their blood lust sated.

I debated about having her go "Jack Bauer," but after a lengthy discussion with her we decided it was the best course of action.

While we did like the Salarian Mordin, he was one of Shepard's crew and thus insulated from all of this.

I had to look up some cool guns. A SIG Sauer P210 .22LR pistol is a cool gun. It's Swiss made. By 2186 it's an antique. This makes it even more cool. I inserted a little dialogue in my story between Wyld and "Nasyra" back in the hospital about it. Wyld asked about it. She obtained it at an "estate sale" from a gun collector. It is was custom made for its original military intelligence owner with a threaded barrel and suppressor. Naleena treats it like it is her child. Ammo for it is scarce. Lead, however, is not so she has to reuse the casings and make her own. While it is ineffective against ablative armor, at a distance of 15 feet with a head shot kinetic barriers are not going to help. And we know for a fact that in the Karpyshyn novels kinetic barriers are completely ineffective - they are a video game balancing mechanic.

The scene was a lot of fun to write. I could see it in an action movie. This would get an R rating - and a notation for a potentially disturbing scene. Heroes just don't behave like this. Naleena's interview quote: "I am not a role model."

I have to get used to it.  We are, right now, in the wrong section.  I presume that this and the story will be moved to fanfiction but it hasn't happened yet.  It sounds like the reorg was done given what they have in mind for Dragon Age.  But hmmm, it seems like a layer is added here, and with itty bitty links, it is just generally a little bit more of a pain to get where I want to go.  We shall see....

As I darken my screen again... grumble some more... swear some more... drop some more f-bombs... I hate the gray on white. Who the **** came up with this stupid idea? Someone in marketing with pointy hair no doubt. I've worked with people like that. No regard for the end user. They do this in the audio industry too. I send my tech support requests in 2 point font to them to be passive aggressive since the complaints go completely disregarded. Customer complaints get ignored these days due to population of the world. There are too many people and too many customers that they don't care anymore. The only thing we can do is be passive aggressive and make someone else's life inconvenient.

Writing will likely happen Thursday.  I kind of got knocked off the horse today with the new website.  Tomorrow is a continuing ed test for my job.  Thursday should be the latest.  But, ahem, Rea and Rothan are in stasis at the moment anyway as Momma is like, 'For Serious?  Oculus drone detected me?'
