I'm english in real life, and honestly I've enjoyed having a character with the same accent as myself IRL. Most games available have american accents EVERYWHERE. I've got nothing against them, it's just dull to hear them over and over again.

Still, I wouldn't mind a new MC accent. We've heard English (Ferelden), French (Orlesian), American (The odd Human or two), and... forgive me, but I'm not entirely sure what accent Antivans have. Spanish? Could anybody enlighten me on that?

Overall I'd prefer a range of options. It seems unlikely, but I'd enjoy it. 

EDIT: On second thought, a Russian, Scottish or Welsh accent would be fantastic also!

I think it's a little too soon to discuss accents since we don't know anything about the new main chara. H/She could be from Antiva as far as we know

Antivans have Spanish accents, and even use the Spanish language in their dialogue at times.

I'm hoping for a French accent this time around. But then again, I will be playing the german version of the game where they will probably not even put in a slight bit of any accent... except for some incredibly fake ones for minor characters...

I would like them to have none no matter where they are from since we see many people have no accents and they come from everywhere. only people from orlais seem to always have accents

As for female PC, I really love Sharon den Adel's accent (though she's a singer, not an actress).



The reception that Orleasian accents have had over the past two games has been quite varied and the devs are aware of this. I somehow fear that they'll go the safe route and stick to good ol' mother England-speak. If they do, I hope they at least mix it up a little, like giving the protag an Irish or Scottish accent. Hell, even cockney works, if only to break the monotony.

It's so generic sounding to me... It's too oftenly used in video games. I mean if Eastwood himself did the voice, then I am preordering!

I am hoping the protagonist is from Starkhaven, so they end up with a lovely Scottish accent. If they are Orlesian then Riordan's VA would be ideal. I love his voice.

British accent, nuff said. Even if it's cliched and generic in a fantasy world, it doesn't matter. British accent all the way. I'll always opt to for a British accent in medieval/fantasy settings.

I'm assuming it will be British since it is the safest option. Strong foreign accent is too risky since for some can be too jarring. Though I liked Cassandra's accent and wouldn't mind Russian or French.

LOL!  I love Jennifer Hale, but I don't think I would accomplish much as the Inquisitor since I'd probably spend the entire game trying to find my sniper rifle.

And please, anything... anything at all but Orlesian.  That was my first thought when I heard it was set in Orlais, "Dear Maker!  Not an entire country of people that talk like that!".  I think I might rather my pc sound like Jar Jar Binks

Whenever I play a game with a non-voiced protag I always imagine him with a very, very thick Brooklyn accent. "The archdemon's gonna be sleepin' with the fishes!"

So yeah. Please make it so some portion of Orlais has inexplicable Brooklyn accents please. And I can get an eggcream there.

I'm fine with them having a subtle accent; like Cass and Riordan has. I don't want a horrendously over the top one.

Most likely it will be Ferelden since that seems to be the pattern. But there is also a chance at it being Orlesian. Either one is fine as long as the orlesian male doesn't sound too ridiculous and the orlesian female has one similar to Leliana's voice since its slight.

But isn't a Tevinter accent just British?

I don't know, a British or American accent is not something I notice, it's like no accent. A strong foreign accent might be distracting.
