One thing that bugged me in DA2 was that all the items had a set icon corresponding to a lvled group instead of its own pic/model in the inventory. Now I know that this might save some time and maybe resources and it is a way to grade the item but maybe add a bit more art to the way it is shown?

I don't recall item icons in DA2 corresponding to their item level. I do recall them being a lot more "basic" looking than in DAO, which seemed like a step down (in addition to the questionable naming of random loot, hence 20 differently enchanted "Rings").
I would hope these are things that are improved in DAI, in addition to bringing back item descriptions. (preferably lengthier ones than DAO, for that matter-- more on the NWN level)
