So what role do you think Legion will play?

That screenshot makes me want to pet him. <3Arrtis wrote...

i think hes a squadmate.
Anyhow, it is quite obvious from that screenshot that Legion is in a cover position and not in a cutscene. Methinks it is further evidence of him being recruitable.

If he is'nt recruitable I will be very disappointed. But very much indicates that he is, Bioware would'nt hype him so much if he was an enemy.
lol. "Bioware would'nt hype him so much if he was an enemy." You know how that sounds, right?

There are Certain 'cues' from his track though that take inspiration from several others, most notably being Saren's/the game over theme from ME1, little bits that sound similar to Sovereign's theme, a part that has some of 'Normandy Reborn' in it, and another portion near the end that was the strangely ominous yet uplifting tune from the end of the enemies video that showed him.
All of this considered, I think he will be a villain, but may become an ally somewhere along the way, and then possibly take some kind of supremely heroic, especially villainous, or other shocking course of action towards the end.
Then again, the various parts of his theme might not all directly relate to him and simply be used for certain sections of the game.

Also, his theme does sound rather evil, and it would make sense for the villain to have a theme too, as well as squad members.

I'm rather interested to learn from a Geth about the Geth, not the obviously biased views of the Quarians. Legion could be one of your most useful allies I would think.
I dunno, I just don't see why so many are anti-Legion.

And you, my kind sir, obviously never learned manners, neither have the creativity nor the imagination to consider the probability that the Collectors are the main enemy, but aren't the greatest threat and thus the main villain in the gameTheTWF wrote...
So you lack the imagination to see Legion accompanying Shepard on ventures in the Terminus systems... and thus he's the main villain of the game. Which technically makes him the leader of the Collectors.
I would need to be trilingual to know enough words to describe how much of a idiot you are.

The most recent Sci vs Fi part 2 video shows Shepard and company helping what looks like Legion onto the Normandy... Not something you necessarily do to a seemingly wounded enemy, lol
This!
Shepard and Grunt are carrying Legion while Thane provides cover. You wouldn't be carrying an enemy to your ship like that.

And the fact that they're helping Legion walk rather than carrying him shows that he is most likely going voluntarily.Birdman117 wrote...

Its not legions character I dislike (although IMO He'd be cooler as a villain. The leader of the collectors doesn't seem very interesting).
Its just it doesn't make sense for everyone to suddenly be ok with a Geth walking down the street.

The only time aside from the geth rebellion that the geth have ever pursued an active war campaign is under Sovereign's influence, and then only because they view it as a god. The thing is, Shepard and the Alliance killed that god, proving that the geth theory of synthetic supremacy that the geth who followed Sovereign had, was flawed.
Enter Legion, a geth free from the neural network, independent and able to make decisions on his own. Here is a geth who not only seemingly admires Shepard, but is in fact obsessed by him. He even welds Shepard's armor to his own. We know the geth are now divided into at least two factions. I'm guessing that there are the geth who still believe in Sovereign's goals of organic extermination, and a new faction that does not. Having independence would grant Legion the ability to be a formidable leader. I'm guessing he's leading a revolution. I don't know whether he wants to return the geth to isoloation such as before Sovereign's arrival, or if he wants to forge an alliance with organics, knowing that the Reapers only plan to use the geth for their own ends.
This is the best educated guess I can offer.
We know he's obsessed with Shepard, we know he probably looks up to him, respects, or even admires him, an organic. We know he's broken free of the other geth, including the ones that view Sovereign as a god. Whatever Legion's role is in the game, I'm sure it will be interesting, and I think the geth will have an interesting role in ME2 and 3.
A week until we find out.

The Geth are known are as evil synthetics that want to destroy all life. Whether or not Legion is, it doesn't matter.

I think... Legion will allow for Bioware to flesh out the Geth as more than mindless killers, and instead may introduce them more as tragic characters. In the first game, the geth were already showing organic tendencies, even having their own religion. Legion himself seems to be an extension of this, grafting Shepard's armor to himself, to show he is more than just a machine... he's an evolution of the geth, and the more they evolve, the more organic in nature they seem to become. The quarians feared they could not peacefully coexist with the sentient geth because they felt that AI would have no use for organics. We don't know if this was true. By Tali's account, the first sentient geth did not immediately rebel, but only did so when their survival was threatened. If the geth truly believed themselves superior to organics, they probably would have pursued the quarians, they did not. Up until the appearance of Sovereign, everything the geth have done follows a simple pattern, they want to survive, they don't want to fight, and after driving the hostile quarians out, they probably decided it would be best to remain isolated behind the veil, free from the organics who wanted to either enslave or murder them. They didn't go to war with the other species, they didn't follow the quarians and exterminate them.

Regardless, Legion sounds interesting. What're its motives for stalking Shepard, I wonder. Why incorporate an element of his armour into it's own? Strange fruit, indeed.

My Theory is that Legion will play a similar role to Death's Hand in Jade Empire where he is your enemy for most of the game, then close to the end you can "turn him." In this case I think it will be about the same only you will end up hacking him instead... I also think that he is not counted as one of Bioware's 10 announced squad members, and there will be someone else... Though that is essentially disproved by the achievement list, but... whatever...
