Actually, Eltina was starting to shift towards the mages more and more.
Change is sometimes slow.

Really? Since when did this started happening?  She has a funny way of showing her transgression.

Nah. You're misconstructing.

Templars have to mantain an emotional distance with mages (hence why they shouldn't technicly be friends) in order to do their job properly. You say they cannot be anti-mage? Well, they cannot be pro-mage either.

And he didn't say tempalrs don't view mages as people, he said they cannot be treated exactly the same as normal people, since they are essentially living weapons.

To some degree I agree with this. Like any other prisons you're not suppose to get emotionally involved with your inmates, and they're not suppose to be your friend either, but not viewing them as humans? I have a problem with that, and this kind of thinking will only cause further problems.

And yes.. Cullen did say that templars don't view mages as people, but as a weapon.

This isn't a sport and no one in TheDas considers it cheating.
You use what tools are EFFECTIVE. To do anything else is sheer stupidity.

That is true. This isn't a sport, but when you take a drug that is known to cause side effects after long-term usage you are not only putting yourself in harms way, but you're also putting others at risk as well. I know from personal experience what addition does to families; to others around them, and how it turn someone who doesn't even have a criminal record into a vicious murderer.

Besides getting templars addicted to the compound only benefits the Chantry as they now have full control over them. like with mages and their phylacteries... the Chantry uses Lyrium to leash up their pitbulls.

Their physiology is tough enough for them to survive a crossbow bolt.

Except they would be hit by 10.
Because Kirkwall is a massive city with a metric crapton of armed men.

Besides, the Viddathari are there to be hit.

The scrawny, manlunrished, underequipped elves with practicly 0 combat experience?

And an elite force can conquer what many times their own number of normal soldiers couldn't.

Because clearly Kirkwall doesn't have elite forces of it's own? Like...veteran guardsman..templars...mages... the many mercenary gangs?

The Templars and mages could probably have put up a fight on their own, but they were not likely to succeed. Without Hawke that is. Hawke changed everything.

Hawke is a tool and didn't hcange anything. The Tempalrs alone could have beat hte living snot out of the qunari.
The Arishok was suicidal.

That would be cool. Lambert would be like Kai Leng in ME3, the one person who can best Shepard/Inquisitor until the final fight.

The words badass, worthy, opponent, and kai leng, should never appear in the same quote pyrimid.

Violation of rule 27 of this site. Get out.

The man landed with 300-500 men and could've easily taken over Kirkwall if he wanted, and then used the people of Kirkwall after converting to search for the relic. He didn't, because for the time being his duty wasn't to convert the people.

No. 500 men is not even close to enough to take over a city the size of Kirkwall.

The qunari had the element of surprise and were fighting the city guard - with is basicly police, not proper military.
As soon as the mages and templars and proper military forces joined in the fight, the Qunari were curbstomped.

Base on DA2 the Circle mages were being slaughtered left and right by the Qunari . Even the First Enchanter got KO'ed and finally came too when Hawke and Knight-Commander Meredith arrived to the scene.

You can see she is becoming more and more fed up with Meredith.

And that is why templars go into retirement before the symptom become too bad.

Also, you should stop taking drugs.

So you plan to stick to that theory despite WoG that lyrium is necessary for templars?
I swear, you are as bad as Quistina - everywhere you see conspiracies.

That was just a lie so he could manipulate her into blowing up stuff. Shooting lightining doesn't cut it. Blowing buildings and people to bits is so much better.
Did you see how colorful that explosion was?

Yes I saw how colorful that explosion was. It was almost as romanic as it could possibly can get. My female mage Hawke approves 20 on Anders attempt of courting her with homemade fireworks.

So I've started reading Asunder.... the book that everyone has been discussing here and what do I come across on the very first chapter?!?! Templars abusing the mages! The prisons (The pit) is rat infected and completely dark. When mages get toss in the cell almost right away the rats starts munching on their flesh with their razor sharp teeth, and theirs no way for the mage to escape the torture that they're experiencing.

This is a class act of oppression against mages.

Wait until you get to the theories of how Cole came to be.

How in the world have you not been spoiled already about the book? Considering how much evidence we use from the novel in the Mages vs Templars debate.

I think we might give a better plot summary here than the blurb on the back cover of the novel.

Eh, what? No.

They didn't, because they couldn't. The whole city was strongly implied to be in a state of anarchy and mass violence. The qunari had weapons and explosives hidden all over the place, and were essentially steamrolling their way to victory. Only Meredith and her squad were able to break away and fight toward the keep while the rest of the Templars were too busy just trying to contain the situation to effectively fight as a full-on military force.

Hawke won that battle. He cut the head off the snake and thus the qunari no longer had any reason to fight. The city was saved by Hawke. Not to say that the Templars didn't provide a massive contribution to the logistics of the city-saving.

Yeah....can't remember, but were you around for the nutella joke before Dragon Age II released.  That and the Awakenings card pointing to a date that proved to be completely unspectacular are probably two of the biggest things I remember.

Elthina had the power to imprison the former Viscount of Kirkwall. If she was truly getting fed up with Meredith she would've had her arrested. Why didn't she do that? Why didn't she step up and did took drastic actions? After all she was Meredith's Boss.

And becoming too friendly won't cause furhter problems?

No it won't. If you give respect you will earn respect.

Not all templars want to go into retirement home. I am not on drugs but I've seen what it does to people and how it can effect families.
