I'm going c/p a comment  that I posted on my tumblr 4 days ago.

I never played as a warrior or a rogue in DA2, but if I had It would
only increase my already deep hatred for the Templar’s, especially after
coming home from the long journey from the deep roads to discover that
Knight-Captain Cullen and a few other Templar’s in my uncles home taking
my sister away from me, and taking her to the wretched gallows where
she would be exposed to such brutal Templar’s like Ser Karras and Ser
Otto Alrik. The thought of it pisses me off.

Had something happen to my sister... like getting tranquil or getting raped in the circle I would have plans to get back at the templars by bombing their chantry.

Do you think the templars came into Bethany's room at night?
I've been wondering.

I think Bethany is safe from Karras because I think he only goes after the male mages.

Alrik on the other hand..... Now hes a different story. Hes a nasty one.

The templars were quick to force her to undergo the Harrowing ritual right after she was taken in. Those monsters!

@Lord Raijin Was he specifically talking to Hawke or Isabela in that situation?

I doubt that the dialogue would be different if Isabela wasn't in the party. He's surely referring to Hawke.

Truthfully, I side with the Mages not because I truely believe in Mage freedom, there needs to be some form of check on mages, but because my baby sister is going to be killed for a crime she didn't committe. And hell if I'm going to let that happen after everything that has happened to my family.

I was pretty much the same way. I wish I could have had an option to publicly execute Anders and fix the Circle. Of course, Meredith was too far gone to leave it at that, as Andres planned.

I might start a pro templar play through of da2 but I have one question if you side with templars during the rite of annulment can you save any mages or do they kill them all.

Well, if you look at the screen's dialogue, it says "Kill the men", and Isabela's standing right there. Hence my confusion.

Well someone's getting violated either way.

The Templar/Mage debate sometimes reminds me of the disparity of outrage between sex and violence.

A Templar threatening rape means the Templar order should be annihilated.

A mage murdering a women and stitching their parts together - oh, that's just a "solitary case". (Which is funny since we know it was supported by the freaking First Enchanter)

We know he supported the Harvester research, not necessarily the Leandra thing.

That is Implied to be quite common in the Kirkwall Circle which I got the fealing is more like the ones outside of Ferelden

That has legitimate aplications that could help wounded veterens get new limbs to replace the old ones, and probibly was fairly exparemental in terms of human anatomy for Thedas.

See... people will come up with anything to exonerate demented mages.

Well, just found something that verifies that Orsino never touched blood magic before using the Harvester spell. And also, something that shows he thought Quentin's research was evil...

I always thought that the Frankenstein thing was just some creepy mage's demented want to be with his lover again, not legitimate resarch using un-ethical methods like, say, Avernus' research into the Taint with Blood Magic or Merrill's research into the Eluvian.

A: Where he claims to have never touched blood magic prior to the Harvester spells.

B: Where he thought Quentin's research was evil.

Considering he honestly had nothing left to lose at this point, I believe his words at these moments.

No, we don't even know that. We know he supported Quentin researching something, but the note does not specify what and his dialogue indicates he viewed it as the sure sign Quentin was unhinged.

All we know for certain is that Orsino helped Quentin for a time. The rest is not known.

Ummm... that first video makes him completely guilty in my eyes.

He said he never "used" blood magic prior to that moment - he said he "put aside Quentin's research as too dangerous" so he clearly knew about what Quentin was doing - he also says he knew Quentin and, more importantly, purposefuly kept him secret.

You don't keep mages secret that aren't doing anything wrong.

I'm not arguing Quentin's research wasn't evil because it was. What I'm saying is that there are perfectly legitimate applications to the Magical Frankensteining process that can not currently be explored.

That's not true. Bethany or Mage Hawke are kept secret and safe from Meredith's Templars and they weren't doing anything wrong.

@Fast Jimmy: That's willfully obtuse. You know WHY they were kept secret.

If you're equating Chantry prejudice against Apostates - and being a demented blood mage woman killer - then shame on you.
