So if a spirit warrior and a templar went up against each other. Who would win?

I will never look at Merrill and my apostate Champion in the same way again.

Armor can't protect against someone who can call on Fade Spirits to help them.

Templars are effective against Spirits, Demons, and mages. They nulllify all forms of magic, story-wise, so it's all down to skill at this point.

Unfortunately the templar's record isn't very good when facing demons or spirits, most fall under the demon's influence.

Templars are very effective at facing things. What you are talking about is a case of the PC curse.

That's the thing though...the templars aren't shown handling a demon or abomination without suffering extreme losses.Their track record isn't that great when facing a actual demon instead of a possessed mage who became a abomination and is contained in the Circle.

Also the Space Marines aren't losing because they are failing to adapt. They are losing because they are besieged by every single enemy imaginable, from ever single percievable angle. The Imperium of Man alone against a single of the enemies they face, would probably have an even fight. However it is getting battered from all sides simultanously.

Such heresy! The Imperium of Man is not losing to any filthy xenos, we've got the emprah on our side!

Their competence relates to how much the protagonist is involved but they're still above-average in terms of overall competence, this isn't Cerberus which the writers can't show them succeed at anything.

In Ferelden's Circle of Magi, the templar contained the abomination threat and would likely have purged the Circle even without the Warden showing up and single-handedly killing legions of Abominations with a fork, they just needed the reinforcements after the Circle had been overwhelmed.

In Kirkwall's Circle of Magi, the templar relentlessly pursued mages and were renown for hunting them down across the land. We've got cases of mages without phylacteries being captured, Templar death squads hunting down apostates hiding in mountains, etc. Unless you side with the mages, the Templar slaughter the mages without much casualties until you reach Orsino.

Had Cullen not allowed Hawke to leave, Hawke would've been one of the many corpses in Kirkwall.

[*]Agreed. If a demon manages to physically cross the Veil to a manifest in its normal form, not as an abomination, than that demon must be extremely strong. Regardless of having templar abilities or not, such a demon would be hard for anyone to kill.

Unless you're the Warden, Hawke, the Inquisitor or some other extremely skilled and highly trained individual.

I'd still put my money on the Arcane Warrior. It would be an interesting gladiator match, however.

You know that mages are responsible for the rushed development of DA2? I heard that the development of the magical abilities and particles (and therefore the entire mage class) meant Bioware had to forgo polishing DA2 and developing unique cave/dungeon areas. Mages and magic are the reason why DA2 suffered from the flaws it did (including the waves of enemies).

For this reason I propose that the option in Inqusition where we can finally get rid of mages once and for all (thus deleting them from the existence of the series when we keep importing such a save, or choosing this as a world-state in subsequent titles) becomes non-avoidable meaning that Bioware can further polish future DA entries and add in more meaningful wanted features such as the additions of more playable races and different play-styles.

I also heard a rumor that mages are responsible for the ending of ME3.

Take it for what you will but my sources do not lie.

We should stop speaking to the pro-mages on this forum and petition that they be banned forever as they're ruining this site and the game series with their stupid magic which isn't as fun as swinging a two handed sword or carving someone up with daggers.

Sigh I created this thread after the LAST one got locked by certain people,

I just intended for Templar supporters to gather and talk about the Templars as well as maybe how to get people to support them.

It was not created for people to BASH TEMPLARS OR TEMPLAR SUPPORTERS!

In fact that is the EXCAT OPPOSITE of what this thread is and people who do that here ARE TROLLS and the mods should treat them as such.

If you don't like the Templars then kindly f*** off and go start your own thread. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE

If you want to start a "Mage Support thread" or a another "Mages v Templars" thread, GO FOR IT

And so I shall. Certainly you could get more people to support them, provided there are sufficiently vast reforms. Shall I give suggestions so as to make my presence constructive?

You also come onto our threads to discuss and/or bash the mage supporters. Are we not also allowed to come here and discuss the Templars? I am not talking about the bashing, I mean the honest discussion.

Discussion is fine.

Someone being disruptive and blatantly sh!tposting like this in an effort to trash the thread is not.

I have no words to describe how creepy that sounds right now....

Hmmm... I wonder if I could stimulate with one hand and make a templar's eyes explode with the other?
That should have been Anders' sex scene. I might even have romanced him had that been the case.
