Some people's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.I can't condone what Anders did but in some ways people had to wake up and be confronted with the injustices that were being allowed in Kirkwall.

Do you think people pondered on the "unfair" handling of magical users after the most revered person in the city was killed by magic?
Anders didn't want to make people realize the "injustice" of the Circle. He just wanted to break the stalemate by making mages fight for their life.
"Give them freedom or give them death" except he didn't ask the Kirkwall mages if that was alright with them.

I did'nt say it was right, however some mages were definitely inspired by Anders' actions.

Orsino should have been found out, tried and executed for his treason. Then hopefulyl a Loyalist Fist Enchanter could have been introduced, which could ahve in turn curbed the more rebellious elements of the Kirkwall Circle, and appeased the Templars. Which would have avoided the entire situation, which would made Fiona's ludicrous points even more moronic, and it would have allowed the Divine to try and improve the Circle so much easier. So basically Orsino and his incompetent leadership of his Circle is to blame for the fact that mages have to fight for their lives now.

And Kirkwall would have happened again sooner or later. What we have now is a war, and it will be final. I will do everything in my power to ensure that this never happens again, and that the templars will never return to power.

So if everything was finally fine, some ****** mage would eventually come through there, on some misguided quest for "freedom", and blow the place up? I wouldn't put it past them, given their track record of ruining everyone elses day. But still, really? You think the that once everything was mellowing out, and that the Divine could finally get the peace she needed to work out a better Circle system, that it would for whatever reason  deteriorate?

I think we broke Xilizhra

His mind was already broken: paedophilia and now necrophilia.

Wait is Xil a he? I am totally showing my ignorance right now, but the Morinth picture always made me picture a female user. I apologize.

I'm a woman, yes. There's confusion on that point in certain corners, for some reason.

I apologize for my ignorance on that front. I honestly was unsure.

His opinions include a lot more than just about mages, including his opinion to come in and derail threads with his false "morally-upstanding" logic while he goes on to defend necrophilia and worse on other forums.

He's exactly the same thing as Meredith. Paranoid, delusional, possessed by another entity, and considers everyone not on "his side" an enemy, considers his cause just, etc

Atleast Meredith was sympathetic because she was possessed without her knowledge; Anders was a naive fool who cried wolf.

I would hardly consider Meredith a sympathetic character under any circumstances. I may not like what Anders did, but that would hardly ever make me like Meredith's alternatives.

This may not have been the case for most of the game, but I actually found Meredith to be so much more sympathetic than Anders during the Last Straw Quest, even as I sided with the mages. Anders was a murderous traitor who embodied everything my Hawke had fought against for the entire game. He killed innocent people with the goal of provoking the death of more innocent people to start a war that would kill even more innocents continent wide in order to create a world that would likley be more dangerous than the one we had now. I had nothing but contempt for his desire to burn down the world without a care for the people in it.

Meredith had a sort of sympathic goal at the most basic level that was twisted into violent unjust expression a by her increasing maddness.

If the mages are upset that Meredith is starting to get strict about blood magic then the solution isnt to start using more blood magic, which is what they did. Sure some didn't, and I felt for them, but how do you know who is and who isn't? To find out you have to invade privacy and crack down, which is what meredith did.

Because there's no way out! She's a paranoid marauder who'd crack down no matter what! There has to be a way to find freedom from this! This sort of thing cannot be allowed to continue!

We've seen no evidence that Meredith would always crack down because we havent seen her in a situation where there was legitimately no blood magic. The insane ammount of blood magic in Kirkwall was slowly driving her  insane, and the more the mages used it the more crazy she became herself.

What revelation? Half of it is lies, half is irrelevant. All you're doing is trolling and working your way up to a topic lock.

Regardless, none of it justifies the Annulment, which was my original point.

It would take me literally two minutes to bring up your exact quotes on some very disgusting issues, Xil. Or even less than two minutes.

If you didn't come in, derail threads, and insult other users, no one would insult you. You've clearly not learned that, since you still keep insulting people and clogging up threads with spam and badly-made argument posts.

I can count the number of actual mage characters (and not background npcs that do nothing) that don't actually turn to blood magic at any point in the story on one hand and still have fingers left over.

Yeah, but nearly every blood mage we face is in Act 3. The total number of blood mages we face in Act 1 and 2, and I mean confirmed blood mages and not rogue mages, but mages we see use blood magic, is six or seven tops.

Six or seven blood mages over 5 years in a large trade city, rife with political tensions between templars getting involved with politics, mages complaining about how little rights they have, the Qunari sitting there and so on, it just feels like six or seven blood mages over five years is closer to what templars would normally expect to find in a large city over that same period of time, maybe even slightly less if you include that group of blood mages in Denerim in Origins that none of the templars save one were willing to investigate.

It's only when Meredith has been in charge for 2-3 years that we have blood mages all over the place.

Considering how little time has passed since Act's1 and 2 before we get to Act 3, it's just really hard for me to discount Meredith and her totalitarian leadership as a large factor in the number of blood mages, especially when we know she doesn't, or at least never see her investigate her own templars and hold them accountable for their own actions.

There are 6 Blood Mages in Idunna's group alone. And that is just Act 1....

That was kind of the point, especially considering I'm using wording that you guys have condoned for the much greater offense of blowing up people.

Also, I'm not a part of this. If Xil wants to be a man or a woman, that's none of my business and it is up to Xil to pick what they want to identify as. I may be from the South, but I'm not some backwards hick, bro.

If you didn't come in, derail threads, and insult other users, no one would insult you, Xil. You've clearly not learned that.

Xil says she's a girl. Unless you have solid evidence, like knowing her personally, or she stated the opposite in the past, all saying otherwise does is simply being dismissive and shows a refusal to take her at her word. She knows herself better than anyone else here. She knows what's she's been through as a child, what kind of parent's she had, how she was treated by her peers in elementary-high school better than anyone else here. She knows her beliefs outside of these forums better than anyone else here.

It's not our place to say that when she calls herself a 'she' that actually means she's a 'he' because people have formed the opinion that anything that comes out of her mouth simply means the opposite is true.

Let's focus on the topic at hand, templars 2.0, maybe discuss mages a bit, but let's leave each other alone when it comes to personal attacks.
